Latest news on the PS3... core system is $499 and the full system is $599, and it comes out on November 17th.

As much as I like the PS2... eff that. 360 FTW.

Yeah, screw $600 for a freakin' console. You can get a nice computer for less than that nowadays.

Eh... I stuck with Xbox last generation and it was pretty sweet. Maybe I'll go with Wii this time, considering at the current prices, 360 and PS3 are out of my reach. I might get a 360 if the price drops by the time the Wii comes out. Nintendo's idea of total backwards compatibility is pretty appealing, though. I wouldn't even have to buy any Wii games for a while.

Anyways, I'll almost certainly get a 360 now. I just need to get my job this summer and I should be able to buy it my first week of working.

That's really great. Now all my worries about playing classic games on the crappy controller are gone. The Wii is looking better and better for me.

Yay they're going to have a real controller!!! From what I had read you were going to have to use the remote thing for gamecube games and hold an analog stick in the other hand.

edit: But why did they switch the analog and D-Pad? Now it's going to be all messed up and uncomfortable like a PS2. (unlike a gamecube or xbox which actually have the analog stick in the right place)

I have to say I love the PlayStation controller, I pretty much grew up of PS. The analog controls are just fine for your thumbs, in my opinion.

Now, onto the PS3 -



It's worth buying a PS3 for.

That tech demo is very interesting, but I just don't see Nintendo being able to use somehting like that without making the Wii incredibly expensive. With all of the cameras, senosrs, and the sheer space needed to actually have some use, I just don't see it being practical.

What did you think about the demo from the Sony Conference that had the card game that played from the eyetoy?

It's an interestig idea and in my opinion would be much easier to pull off than the rumored Wi stuff.
