Well, Slayer, if you went and looked at the posted site, it gives their reasons for the name.
Frankly, I'm completely dissillusioned with nintendo, and consoles in general. Though I have been playing a lot of OoT lately. Great game.

Lately I've been hooked on just a couple of games, and pretty much only playing them: Tetris DS and Age of Wonders. They both kick ass. Especially Age of Wonders. It's readily available on eBay for around $5, and totally worth it.

I just kinda relized this... we're using a internet language that makes fun of a language making fun of the fact that noobs use a language based off of making fun of a language created by typos...
I thought I'd point that out.

I personally think 1337 speak should be kept to a minimum, for sarcastic effect, not all-encompassing as a posting style. I use it more in everyday conversation than on the internet.

When I was a kid Atari was #1 in home video games, Intelevison was #2 a distant 2nd, and there were a few others but Atari was far and away the leader.

Ignorance is bliss.
"Wii". It is, imo, quite a good name. It is nicely symbolic. It's simple, short, and original. It doesn't try to be cool sounding, or deep. (Hint hint, Xbox.) And yeah- everyone is going on about how it's pronuciation is "wee". And that proves something. "wee" is a term used almost soley by little kids. 2 year olds. Un-mature people. If you're going to go on about how it sounds like "wee", you're no better than a kid running through a playground with no clothes on.
And if you're smart enough now to drop the pronunciation thing, then it should sound even better than "Revolution". Which is not in Nintendo's style- "Revolution" or "Revo" sounds like it's trying in vain to be cool. They made a good choice! Look at the DS, Gamecube and Wifi. All those names are down-to-earth, and "Gamecube" is infinitely literal. "DS" isn't trying to prove anything.
If you're gonna go on about the Wii, than I might as go on about the PeeSPee.
