Change was the 1 word that Obama and his campaign used 4 years ago when he ran.
Not only when he ran for President against John McCain but when he ran for the nomination against Hillary Clinton too. The suggestion was that Hillary was too much into politics for too long and electing her might be the 1st woman President, there wouldn't be much change of government there would still be more of Bill and we have already had that.
After getting the nomination the 'change' was not to move away from 8 years of the Bush administration and that McCain would be more of the same. This man would bring upon change.
Health care, jobs, and so forth.
The things he said he would do most of all. 1. Lower the national debt. * the debt has tripled on his watch* 2. Bring us lower gasoline prices. *They're the same* 3. Create new jobs and more employment. *unemployment is worse than ever. 4. Get out of Iraq in 16 months. *I don't think there should ever be a deadline for a project like that but whether there should or shouldn't be that did not happen.
The only thing he pushed that is possibly going to stick is a healthcare plan that stinks. shoved down our throat just to show us that he got it done. We can discuss this further in another thread. or in further posts in the same thread.
All of the active or partially active members of this forum know that I did not vote for Obama. I did say after he got in that I'd give him a chance. It was a fair election and he won. I predicted the many things he said would happen would not be possible.
I would like to know what others thing. Do you feel he has been a good President. Even if he has missed on some things has he done a good job? If you voted for him and hoped for the best, has he done a good enough job to earn your vote again?
I don't mind a different opinion than mine if you care to discuss. In fact I'd like to know what he has done that might intrigue some people. I am not entirely neutral since I am too conservative to vote for anybody this liberal. I still think had I voted for him 4 years ago I would be looking elsewhere this time.
I was going to post this in politics and news but I figured we'd awaken our polls forum.

i feel like he is making us rely on the goverment and as for jobs they have become really hard to find. I mean mine cut hours down this year and last longer then ever. they say he has created more jobs. well I don't know where they are because it's not in Allentown. however I do like that he has come around and given his approval for gay marriage. it's sad how many hate crimes happen because people hate them. I would like for them to have equal rights one day. when I think about what happened to Tyler it makes me sick. I can't help but wonder if they had equal rights maybe others would come around to accept them and this violence would stop. as much as I respect him for standing up and accepting that I just think this economy is on the edge and it's important that jobs are being made to people out there.

Unsurprisingly I feel as Phil does. Politically we seem to just about agree on most candidates. I also felt that Obama was not the answer but he was elected and it was time to see what happens. He hasn't fixed what he said he would. Obviously the problems didn't start overnight and it can take longer than 2 or 3 years to fix them. But there are not any signs that I can see toward things improving a little bit.
The economy has clearly gotten worse. Businesses like my family's business has had to make many budget cuts, and that's a national problem.
Healthcare is a farce as far as I am concerned. His plan will allow the government to mandate health providers, make private hospitals perform abortions, mandate which doctors you can visit, and leans toward them deciding if they can have the right to provide health care or not to certain patients.
If you're too old and or not in their calculations not healthy enough they can decide not to assist you.
So my father who will be 76 this November could be told you're too old for this provision. They would have the right.
I do think there is need for a healthcare plan but not necessarily the Obama plan and his way or the high way.
I am not satisfied with Obama's presidency and I really hope he is not reelected.

For anybody who voted for Obama, and if you did it was probably because you didn't approve of Bush. While I did like Bush I am not arguing your disapproval. I am guessing that change is what you voted for for anybody who did choose Obama.
What I am asking now, and I am not doing this to be argumentative but just to get input, has the Obama administration pleased you enough to vote for him again? If so what has he done that you like? I promise this is not setting up an attack but a discussion.

I don't like his arrogance or his Liberal antics and his condescending approach whenever people don't agree with him.

There's some doubts about him being born in this country too. I don't know his profile and his intentions are for the best interest of this country.

I have heard also that he may have been born in Kenya or whatever. Me, personally, that doesn't bother me. If I agreed with his values more I wouldn't care if he was born in Kenya or somewhere else. If I thought what he was doing was for the good of the country that elected him President I wouldn't care about where he was born.

I think he is a big phony. I dont think any of the things he has done are for the good of our country. He has gone to other places to apologize for things that shouldnt be apologized for. He has said a lot of things and talks a good deal but I dont think he has done a good job living up to what he promised.
If the problems were too big or are worse than he thought, then he should not have said he can fix them. That was the deal that he would make the repairs that he said he would make.
The only thing he has done is push a health care plan that most congress people even other democrats have declined to sign because they feel that it needs a lot of work before it can even be a useable plan.

And it looks like there's no choice on this health care system its 'here it is look what I did aren't I a great contributor'
Now he is frantically looking to push it through before election so he can at least hang his hat on something major in his time as President.
He figures most people want handouts and a government sponsored health care program will win over all the rest of the voters.
He is also pushing that there will be no questioning the legality of immigration to voters between the ages of 25 and 50. That might actually work to win some popularity.
In the whole of the nation's good, I wonder what anyone might say that Barrack Obama has done to help this country
And I don't propose this to argue I really want to know. If you're considering voting for Obama in 2012 and if you did vote for him 4 years ago has he pleased you and if so how?

DID anybody catch this?
Obama is asking that wedding gifts be forwarded to his campaign?
Is this fuking insane or what!?!?!?!
Is his campaign that desperate for money or is he that self important that he thinks people should forward their wedding checks to him? I can not believe this.

i have not herd of that but it's crazy. I wouldn't give him a penny for his campane. why don't he put his own money into it. it's sad look at all the homeless people living in the street because they lost their job and their house. and we should just hand over our wedding money and gifts to him for cash. oh no I don't think so! I can't wait until he is gone.

Either way this is going to being down a ton of media and get all different reactions from the people.
The problem I see with the public is that most people don't follow the ins and outs of this bill. I see that most people are happy there's a health care proposal without knowing that this is set to be a mandatory arrangement and some of the ins and outs of it are not really in the county's best interest.

At least right now it looks like they're going to shove Obamacare down our throats. Any thoughts?

We've been paying for it for a while now anyway. How this unconstitutional act took place I don't get.

I am not happy this happened. I am very unhappy that John Roberts seems to have jumped left on this too.
I am not assuming that he should vote against a democratic president's plan because a republican appointed him that's not fair either. They as judges are supposed to uphold the law as they see fit and not how the party who appointed them feels on an issue.
I've never been so discouraged about a president and how he does things its more as if he can put into law whatever he wants.
People are going to be fined if they don't buy into this health care plan? Where is the freedom here?
If Obama is reelected, business like mine are going to need a lot of smoke and mirrors to stay afloat.

i want Obama kicked out of office now. I refuse to be forced to pay for something I can't afford. I mean really we can be fined or go to jail. this is America land of the free. people who plan for their dream wedding he wants cash for his campaign so he can make us suffer another 4 years. jobs are not doing good as it is and he is killing us. their are kids starving across the world with not enough food. people are homeless living in the streets because they lost their jobs. yet his campaign is far more importing then people suffering in America. it makes me sick.

This is not something that is supposed to be mandated.
If my dog prefers Alpo dog food but the congress and the court decided that by some study that Dad's dog food is better for the dog so from now on you must purchase that brand of dogfood or be fined. Then what, if you eat omelets for breakfast when you're over the national weight average you can be fined. You have to eat grain cereal and only with 2 percent milk? Where does it stop?
