Life on my end is still pretty busy, but I thought I'd stop by and say hello.

I am glad you did. I hope you have a nice Christmas. I miss the forum and the simplicity of things but that's the way ot goes. I also realize networking has gotten more sophisticated that forum discussion is practically obsolete.

Tomorrow morning it will be 6 years that we lost my dad. That means that 6 years ago today was the last I talked to him I have gotten used to not seeing him but it hasn't gotten any easier.

It is now May of 2017. In May of 1990 I took the job at CSX * the parent company of all the eastern rail railroad companies in the United States* It was thought to be a summer position but when I was promised a full time position for the fall. I was assigned to Penn-York Division in October of 1990 but the parent company is CSX they can reassign me if they want to or put me on loan to another division if need by. They did that here and there when I was on a travel assignment list. I was just 18 when I started (I turned 19 in June of 1990) I worked virtually every holiday until I was about 35 when I finally got enough seniority and enough people ahead of me on the food chain had retired.
I just received my update itinerary that I can technically retire in July of 2021. If your time on the job and age add up to 80 you can retire 1 month after your birthday. I will be 46 next month, and I have 27 years on the job right now. and therefore I can retire in 4 years and 1 month. Probably I wont. Jason will be finished with college by then but the younger 2 wont be. I may retire and seek and easy job but I'll probably stay where I am til at least age 55.

October is a busy month for my work. Its crunchtime to get everything that has to be in order before the winter weather sets in. Even though I have had that job for 27 years at the age of 46 its a lot harder to put in the long hours.

What does the fox say? I'd be on more often if I wasn't alone. I still have loyalty to the forum. I realize with media today forums are largely outdated. But I'm still here

I am a little shocked that LS is still around. After all these years. Lets rework it. I check it out at least once a week still. I know the blast family though social media and Mahnarch too. I could get them to lurk and eve post if there's activity. There's probably a few others. Granted this kind of forum is somewhat archaic since other media has been perfected.

I have not logged in since my last year of high school that's about 3 years now. I have a year of college left but I'm considering a ton of things and if I don't go into my field of study I'll have to start over either back to school or just a job but feeling I might have not invested my time well.

Been a while since I logged in. Quite a bit has happened since I last logged on. Last November I got my first tattoo, which was a set of paw prints, and it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. Then in March my grandpa died of Alzheimer's, and my one cat died of old age in April. Other than that I've mostly been busy with work. It's sad that there is not much activity on the boards like there used to be.
