My Family has a variety of different kinds of cars, but Classicblast is die hard Ford. His Family business has over seventy trucks and they're all Fords and so are their personal cars. Classic himself has a Mustang and a F350. I wish we could get a Ford GT.

A GT?!!
You are soooo awesome you know that, Blastgirl? Classic's a lucky man.
I was at the Detroit Auto Show and they had one on display. For the life of me I couldn't convince them that I needed to test drive it.
Security: "Where you goin'?" Me: "Oh, I'm just getting something out of my car...."
*After the changing of the gaurds* Securty: "Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Me: "Ford GT Inspector (flash a fake badge). Just have to test drive it to check for authenticity."
*After coming back from the hospital* Security: "Hey! Didn't I toss you out of here?" Me: "Yeah, but now I'm dying and I'm with 'Make A Wish'."

I had a 1988 Reliant K. It was kind of bulletproof but I replaced it with a Dodge Daytona because I got a low mileage Daytona cheap.
The Reliant K had almost 200thousand miles on it and I sold it to a friend for half of nothing and he wrecked it in under a year.

Ouch! I hate it when legends die at the hands of the inferior (remember my Sunbird?)
My Reliant wan an '82 - but I don't remember the miles it had.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!
We have a '98 Volvo rig that broke the 700,000 mile marker today! Try that in your car or truck.

I hate computer thingys.....
I once fixed a Lincoln Continental for $30 by replacing a rely after the dealer told the owner that it'd be about $600 to do a suspension controller replacement.
I got a case of free beers for that one.
That's what I miss about working on cars in a shop - free stuff. Not always beers, but sometimes cookies and fruit.
I get free pizza and sometimes pop while delivering frieght, now, though. If a company is having a picnic or somesuch thing.
I once got free BBQ ribs at a companies outing. Just gotta show up at the right time.

You bet.
I don't think a week went by that we didn't get something.
I especially like the homemade stuff. The Dutch can cook. Let me tell you what.
Blastgirl: "Tell me what?" Mahnarch: "I just did." Blastgirl: "....."

I do most of my own stuff even though I'm not really a mechanic. But on my 87 Chevy I did my own engine swap in my driveway.
I stil work on my own but the truck I have now is a little more crammed.

I'm 16 since the second of this month. since then my mum has been letting me drive her car around the driveway, but its illegal to drive here unless your 17 and with a fully licenced driver. pretty strict. I've mastered clutch control and parking, I wish I could go on the street though...It's way too limiting at home.
My first car will be a jaguar 1987 auto, (don't know what type) my dad is going to make me pay for it. but he owns it now. he got it cheap with his volvo but its in great condition

I can't drive yet, but my first car will be a '79 Camaro. It looks like this, but it's blue. One advantage of older cars is that they are much easier to repair. I know my automotive knowledge pales in comparison with some users', but I know how to perform basic maintenance at least.

First "car": 1949 Dodge truck. Ugliest vehicle ever. No synchromesh, had to double-clutch, floorboard rusted through. Liked the straight-6 engine, though.
Starting in the early '80's, cars got really hard to work on. No room to work, plus a lot of electronics and computers in the engine. It was like they didn't want you to be able to do your own maintenance. Some of the maintenance was REQUIRED to be done by the dealer. Made me pretty mad.
Getting a pre-1980 engine is a good idea.

Agreed. The ladies love Camaros - old or new. You can really do alot to a small block, too. I've got a Weiland dual carb high-rise intake I'm trying to get rid of. You'll have to cut a hole in the hood to fit it, but it'll look pretty cool with a couple of Hollys or Edies mounted on top. Not a whole lotta bottom-end grunt (could be a 'Farts' section joke, there), but if jetted right gets alot of top end where it counts. Bubs: "Well, this goblin, he had a Gremlin. He had it jacked up with some 4.11 gears out back..390hp. I mean, he had some muscle.. (It's too fast to catch all of it. lol) www.homestarrunner.com/homestarloween.html

Nice Camaro Edlinfan. I like them. I like almost any kind of car for a reason or another. I would love to have a 68 GTO That might be my all time favorite car But it would be had to settle on one single car for an all time favorite
