Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse. We had to add 3 more medications, but no joy. Things continute to go down hill. We have exhausted medicine.
So, July 8th I will find out if I go to surgery. I have a repeat stress echocardiogram that day, and with the way I am feeling, I'm not filled with optimism.
If I need the surgery, basically a portion of my heart muscle will be removed from the left ventricular septum. That should lessen the obstruction that is giving me so much grief.....
It sounds like a good thing if I could just warm up to the idea of having my breast bone sawed in half length-wise and my heart stopped for a few hours....
It looks like that old Cadillac might be getting a rebuilt engine. I hope there's still some tread on the tires.

That's scary. I hope you're going to be alright and the operation works. Maybe you should have your wife create an account and sign on to let us know what's happening.

I hope all goes well, Pumpkin. I was getting worried about you - as noted to Demona the other day - that you hadn't signed in in awhile.
I could show you pics of my colonoscopy to ease your mind but, most people don't want to see that.
.....the pics are posted here, further down...

Colonoscopy....Ain't that fun? I have to have one every five years due to two polyps that were found on my first one---2 years and 9 months to go until I endure that procedure again. I'll take a look at your pictures when I feel a little less queasy. LOL
Yeah, I haven't been around much for a while. I have been battling depression in between hospital admissions. I just don't want to feel this bad. Today I almost passed out in the buffet line at a restaurant that I went to with Mrs. Pumpkin. That was scary.
I think my heart rate and blood pressure got too low for a while. Things got dark around the edges and kind of surreal. When I got home and took my blood pressure, it was 100/52 with a 53 pulse. It's all the different meds I am on---gotta call the doc tomorrow for sure. I can't funtion like this.
I will definitely be around more often now. Most days I have had just enough energy load the dishwasher and do a few other minor chores, then I'm wiped out for the day. Couch potato time but I don't enjoy it especiallly this time of year. I really am out of it and napping off and on.
I will definitely have my wife set up an account when the time comes. She can update what's going on with the surgery and stuff. I'll have tubes in every orifice so she better do it for me. LOL Gawd, I hate being cathetered!
One thing hasn't changed: I'm still in fine farting form. See my new thread in the fart section. ;D

Hey, thanks for the video and all the positive comments! It really does give me a much needed lift, and it makes me realize I was away from here for much too long. It's nice to be back with friends again.
Well, if your gonna do something, you might as well do it big-time. On the stress echocardiogram, my intracardiac pressure gradients were over 5 times higher than they can safely be left at, even on the maximum dosages of medications. So............
The Dr., me, and Mrs. Pumpkin had a consult after the stress echo. Surgery is the only option left to give me the relief I need---and preserve my longevity and give me some qualitiy of life again.
And damn, it's hard to not be able to walk more than about 20 feet without having to stop and gasp for air. lDay to day life has become almost impossible. It's time to get this done.
I will be off to see the surgeon as soon as possible. They may be able to get me in and get this done before the end of August. That's good as I know the wait will be nerve racking. At times I'm fine with it. Other times, I'm like OMG! It's that emotional roller coaster that's taking my energy down the drain. Let's just do it and let me get on with life again.
You can bet I will take the support I get here with me into the operating room when the time comes. That's the kind of thing that gets a person through something like this. Thank you my friends!

And you can count on that support. Since the doctor says that the operation is the only thing that's goig to fix this problem I woudln't wait any longer than you have to. The sooner you get stated the sooner you get healed.
