Sometimes meds that are needed change as needs and the body changes some. My father spent 4 days in the hospital. But he should listen to his doctors more.
They say more fruits and vegs and less icecream. Strawberry flavored ice cream is not a reasonable comprimise.

Good to hear! .....wait! It's not 70's Cadillac care, is it? Y'know, "land yacht" handling and performance?

I' go with either of those Caddies, new or old! I wonder if they'd let me take the ICD for a test drive?

LOL....I bet she has days with me she like to send me on a long ride to somewhere's else. Hi Alan, I know Phil, Manarch, the Blasts, Bean Girl and many others from the original farts.com. Good to meet you! ;D Well, it's on. I go under the knife on Jan 20th for the ICD implantation. Actually, it will be a comfort to have the thing onboard. I had one of those "events" the other night where my heart paused for at least a full 5 seconds before it started beating again very rapidly....And of course that never shows when you wear a monitor. No, everything was fine for those 24 hours. Thankfully my Dr. is looking at other risk factors that place me in a high catagory for sudden cardiac death. This device will be a primary prevention.

Well, Pumpkin is now wired. I have a new ICD/pacemaker with dual lead wires in both chambers of the right side of my heart.
With the pacemaker function, I am already feeling better. I can actually walk around my house now without having to stop and gasp for air. If I do have a run of ventricular arrhrythmias, the ICD portion is ready to give my heart a zap and get it back on track. ;D
I was at a high likelhood of sudden cardiac death without the device, so it's good to have.

Its amazing how much they can do now to improve the quality of life. When I was a kid a pacemaker worked for a while and when it malfunctioned you had no waring and a heart attack just happened 1 day.
I have an uncle who is 68 who has been on a pacemaker since he was 42 and they've changed it a few times but he does everything pretty much. Its not suggested for him to play tackle football but he goes skiing, bowls and has no major trouble other than sometimes being a little short of breath.

Pumpkin it seems like each new step has helped you. Hopefully the right combination is just a few treatments away.
