See, I have a very BIG issue with this and I tend to get REALLY mean when I talk about it: (sorry for any offences in advance. As soon as I hit 'Post Reply' I will 'Un-Hulk' and revert to my usual cheery self.)

During that rally, and the recent one over Michael Savage, the Police, FBI, SWAT, U.S. Marshalls and Border Patrol should have surrounded the some-odd city blocks and busted them all!

They should have peppered the crowd with agents in 'civies' and had someone go up to the microphone and say (in a cheery voice), "Who's here illegally, today?!"
When the illegals went nuts, he should've pulled out his badge and said, "Good, now put your hands behind your backs", as the undercover agents sprung on them,
As panic ensued, the SWAT buses would pull around the corners and the 'Meat Wagons' would follow.
I'd have grabbed all media personel and anyone with a camera beforehand so the news wouldn't get around, quickly.

Then, do the same thing in the next town over.

They come here, ILLEGALLALY, and expect us to bend over backwards for them: Free health care, Free education, Free housing, Welfare, Prescriptions...

What do they bring with them?
Small Pox, Malaria, Known Felons,.

Anchor Babies:
Pregnate woman will get knocked up in Mexico and when she's almost due, she'll get a hotel near the border.
When her water breaks, she sneaks over the border and jumps in a cab heading for the hospital.
20 minutes later, a new U.S. citizen is born and the parents can't leave the country because of the baby.
So, the U.S. puts them up in a free house, paid for by YOU!

One young Mexican girl went to the doctor's office and was told that she was pregnate.
She got really excited and the nurse asked, "Is this your first?"
She said, "No. But now I can get housing and call my boyfriend to come up here to live."

Mexico has no drunk driving laws.
Mexicans come here and observe that rule (or lack there of)

Mexicans aren't coming to the U.S. to be citizens. They are coming to the U.S. to be Mexicans living in the U.S.
They won't learn english and want to force Spanish onto you - otherwise, they always have to have a translater.

I don't see the problem with people who can't take the time to learn english. I started to speak it when I was 2!

A busdriver kicked 3 young children off a Minnesota elementary school bus because they spoke ENGLISH.

If I were to go to Mexico to VISIT(!!) I would learn atleast some of the language in order to get around. I don't want to make a fool of my self by announcing I have 30 butts. (subtly : 'anos' / 'años')

They come here to LIVE(!!) and won't learn the word 'Big Mac'!!

My great-grandfather came to this country in 1901 from Stuttgart, Germany because the logging industry was better here.
He bought a registered ticket and got onto a boat headed for Ellis Island and was going through registration within 20 minutes of being on American soil.
Why can't they do the same? (minus the Ellis Island part)

The Canadian government put a stop to the anchor baby influx when it was discovered that the Chinese were getting pregnate and quickly flying to Canada to deliver - sometimes having the baby ON THE PLANE! (what nationality does it make the kid? Technically?)

I say rally forth, and let's dump the 14th ammendment!!
Or, let's re-ammend it so that atleast one parent has to be a citizen, kid born on U.S. or no!

Like I said I have mixed views on this issue.
I believe in the opportunity and America being the land of opportunity.
I have no problem with anybody who wants to work their way into the system.

I agree with Mahnarch about the fact that they should not have the right to rebal rouse and not even be citizens thats 1 thing too much.

And you have to learn the language. English is the official language of the United States.

I don't need to call up my bank or some other service orgainzation and have to press 1 for English with a press 2 for Spanish thing.

In 10 years at this rate you'll be pressing 2 for English. If they even offer that option. That makes me mad.

The U.S. (informally, 'America') used to be a boiler. If someone lit a fire under it it would build pressure and blow up on you - be it Germany, Japan, Russia, etc.

Well, it seems that the fire has gone out and if America was a ship it would be sinking quickly.
In fact, the hull (Mexican border) of America is leaking so badly that Mexico (or 'sea water') is flooding in, unabated.
Not to mention the poopdeck (Canadian border) when it rains.

Pride in your nation used to stand for something.
National pride used to keep America rolling on it's own, not dependant on foreign 'resources'.

Mexicans are taking jobs Americans won't do?! It's more like 'Business owners aren't willing to pay 'American Wages' for American Jobs!
That's why over half of our jobs were shipped overseas.

I say, if a certain business saves $4 million a year in reduced wages, I'm going to tariff them $8 million just to 're-import' their own products!

Americans shouldn't be eating on 'Made in U.S.A.' placemats made in China.
American's shouldn't be be watching American films digitally remastered in Vietnam.
American's shouldn't be buying an American flag made in Taiwan!!

Politians seem to think that America has to be the world's savior.
I say that 'you can't fight for what's right if you can't even stand on your own two feet'!
We need to lick our own wounds before we get in the global ring!

Licking our own wounds means strengthening our borders, bringing back our jobs and being self reliant.

Liberalism is a mental disorder and has to be dealt with.
We can't allow these sick individuals to sell off our country to the highest bidder.

American english (technically 'American'. Yes it's its own language.) is the official language of America.
Our founders spoke it, even though many didn't when they came here, their children spoke it, and their children's children spoke it.

It was voted in as the official language for all states to be able to freely trade and work with each other as a 'UNITED' nation.

It was easy. It was straight to the point (no 'depending on usage' words [i.e. "pissed" meant "angry", not "angry" orrrr "drunk", depending on usage - sorry Kronie, for attacking the Brits.])

Nevermind that it's based on U.K. english. The languages have separated, and were back then, to a point that some Brits can't understand Americans and vice versa.

Canada may be a 'First World' country, but why isn't it a 'Superpower'?

Russian is spoken in the Soviet Union, border to border.
It's a superpower.

China? Chinese is spoken all over but, with so many dialects that an Easterner can't understand a Westerner.
That's why they're only now becoming industrialized - common language is starting to become the norm.

LANGUAGE is what brings a country together.
LANGUAGE is what instills pride.
LANGUAGE is what separates countries from all the other countries.
LANGUAGE is the reason I can go down to the local hardware store for a ceiling fan and not walk out with a bag of lawn fertilizer because I didn't understand the clerk (though, this is becoming common).

The 'Yankees' don't wear 'Pirates' hats and the 'Dolphins' don't wear 'Laker' jerseys! (did I just mix sports, there? I'm not a sports nut. I don't know.)

I never said I was conservative. My views differ vastly form topic to topic. I don't really fit into any category, I just call it as I see it. Immigration is an important matter to me, as I live in the southwest near the border. I see the impact it has on jobs in the area. Every single classified ad for jobs has "Bilingual a must". That really infuriates me, people can't even work in their own country because illegal immigrants need special consideration! UUUrrrrgh! Drives me nuts!!!!!
