A kid I grew up with. We are both 24 now. Larry has no sense of responsibility whatsoever or any sense of urgency.
We aren't friends like we were growing up and that is because of the fact that we might have been running the grounds of the planet earth for the same length of time but we are not really the same age. His responsibility and maturaty still has him in the 4th grade even though he is 24 years old.
Its not that he is dumb at all I don't know what to say.
He went with a girl for 3 years who was really good looking, sweet and ready to settle down with him. He cleaned his act up for a while. He got some respectable clothes, shaved and like I said cleaned up his act. He got a job that was right up his alley. He could work unsupervised as long as he got there on time and accomplished what was demanded. And not with too much flack from the bosses.
He worked there a year and had little or no trouble. The last year he started coming in late beacuse there was nobody there to check him out. He started doing personal stuff on the work's time and pretending he ran an arrend for them.
One day about 6 months ago his boss drove past the place of work and saw his car wasn't there. He waited for Larry to get there and scloded him hard. He put it on that there was not going to be anymore of that.
There are new rules and they were use a timecard to punch in and out, that way they would know if he was on time. They started calling more often throughout the day and even stopping in to make sure he was actually doing work instead of playing computer games or watching dvds.
When he improved his habits only begrudgingly in that had he would get done what he guessed they would look at they surprised him by checking into some of the other things he was suppose to do or not do finding it that they were paying him a lot for hardly doing anything.
About 2 months ago he did something and that got the main boss mad. The main boss went to the place waiting for him to show up. When Larry drove up a half hour late the owner laid out the last several months of his wrong doing and fired him.
His girl finally gave up on him and he went back to his parents house. That part could be ok but he has not made an effort to find any other jobs and he stays up late playing online poker and sleeps until 2 or 3 in the afternoon.
Now he asked me if he could borrow a little bit of money for a while because his parents said to him if he wants to stay there he has to pay them a small room and board charge.
I guess they figure thats the only way he might look for a job.
I said no to the money and he told me that if he gets thrown out it will be my fault.
I know thats ridiculous and Im not giving him any money, but I'm just disgusted with this person.
