I might look for a new job soon. Not that the one I have hasn't been good for me but things are not really the same.
I work in promos for the team that Classicblast use to play for. That team has been our local team my whole life and my Family had season tickets long before I ever met Classic.
I met Classic in a pizza restaurant after a game and noticed he was one of the new players. Etc etc etc and so on...
Well after a time I got a job in the promotions department. It's a year around job, and its not all that difficult.
The only catch is you have to be at the park sometimes when the team is pushing a drive for a charity or any other promotion but that's not that hard and it's usually fun.
But now that Classic changed teams (I was afraid they might let me go for a while) but that has not happend.
I think what I might do is wait until I have to take time off to have my Baby. After I have this Baby I think I might resign and look for a different job.

My best suggestion is to wait until after you have the baby and have been on leave for quite a while, especially if its paid maternity leave. Once the baby is older, then you should resign and look for another job.

The other factor is this. If your family has always been partial to the team in a fan capacity it might have a long term benefit to keep that job. I realize at the moment the're the guys that 'fired' Classic. But as you well would know in sports it not a bit unusual for a player to return to a former team sometime down the road eather as a player or in some other position.
If the job has gotten old or there's more that you are not able to tell us here then it's a different story.
But that's Phil's 2 cents.

My job's going pretty well so far. It's not very tough and the pay is good for a summer job. I'm making twice as much as some of my friends. I should have over $5000 by the time I'm done working and then when tax time comes around I should get back most of my income taxes.. woohoo.
The only problem is that I'm on the very bottom of the seniority list and basically if they need anyone to work overtime I have to do it. I was supposed to work til 3 this morning but they sent me home early because they didn't need me after an hour or so. My shift is over at 10:55 and they ket me know I had to work over at 10:45... which wasn't very cool.
Oh, and I worked 52 hours a couple weeks ago... it was rough but the paycheck was nice. More money that I can use to take out my girl I guess. ;D

My job sucks. It's overnights and all idiots on my shift now.
I so want to get off overnights.
The only thing that has gotten better is I usually get holidays off now because enough people have retired to get me seniority.
That didn't happen last weeks on the 4th but most of the time I get them off now.
I have 14 years in now.
I am probably about half way to retirement. If you have a combination of adding up to 80 you can retire. So 50 years old with 30 company years would do it.

You mean you're not fifty yet? Just kidding. I understand a job where you have to go through channels to get anything done. But where would we all be without the railroad services?

I had the option of taking third shift, which is 11 PM to 7 AM, but I just didn't like the idea of having to get used to staying up during the night and sleeping during the day. As long as I don't have to work over I think my shift (3-11 PM) is ok. It just sorta takes away from my social life during the week.

What kind of job are you getting TC?
I don't blame Spartan for not going to overnights. I really don't like it. It's just that the job I have is not the kind of job you quit. The pay is ok, but the benefits our outstanding and therefore it's almost impossible to replace the job.
I just hope within a year I can transfer to a different shift but workers have limited say in that. But what's bad about it is I'm tired most of the time.
I get home, my wife gets off to work and takes the 2 year old to my mothers, Jason goes to school, I goto bed until 12:30-1pm and then go pick up the little guy. Then I usually come online until Jason gets home from school and there's this and that until about 10 or 1030pm I head for work. I almost get to a normal schedule on the weekend and I go back to that.

I'm typing at the South Tahoe Public Utilities District. Basically, a guy goes out to a construction site or whatever and records the conditions of that day -- What temperature it was during the day, how many people came to the job, what each person did and when they took breaks, things like that. Then, the next day, I have to listen to whatever he said when he was recording and type it out.

I work with my dad and go to school. I have no problems at all. I just do what I'm told. But I also have to admit I don't have quite so many people to have to work with or ever have to deal with.
