I have similar storys about trains and people 'train dodging.' I've seen what a train does ao an automobile. I don't understand why some people think they need to challenge or play chicken when they're way out of their league.

One thing to say. Idiots, this century is full of em... I have people who dont trust anyone to drive them places except adults, and they said they trust me fine, its just that the truck has no power steering haha, only rough thing about it.

That's just foolish. I know I am a good driver and I was at age 16 too. There's people over 30 I'd hate to have to get in a car with but not necessarily does it matter how long you have been driving.
If our crew goes out on a job site I prefer to drive and most of the guys prefer if I drive too. My brother and my sister were both good drivers too when they 1st started driving. I would lend them my vehicle and not worry.
The assumption of older means more responsible is a fallacy. It might be the case sometimes but to assume that only because of age is foolish.

I tend to agree most of what Phil said. There's some younger people that think they're indestructible and they're the ones that are the ones that give all the Parents misgivings about the rest of the younger people.
Even when I was in High School if someone was going to drive a group of us somewhere and the driver was sixteen, my Dad might say "Only Sixteen?" That doesn't mean we couldn't go but he would question it a bit.

Yeah. There's a difference between 16 and 60.....
...well, not really.....HA!
Kidding!
***
I remember being 16.
I had my Yugo and I was king of the road. No one could touch me and I could go anywhere and........BAAAMMMMM!!!!
A lady smashed into the side of my car at an intersection.
I slide sideways and into the path of an oncoming UPS truck! I swerved and ended up face first into a maple tree.
The cop tried to write ME a ticket, at first, until the lady who hit me fessed up!
The pig laughed (very visibly) when he got out of his car and saw mine....
Made me very....."upset".....if you will.

I was a cop but, I can tell you this; Cops are rear ends in top hats when it comes to teens.
You can have a straight-laced, 4.0 GPA high school student get hit by a 35 year old 'known' town drunk, and the cop will believe the 35 year old over the 16 year old any day - especially in Spring Lake, Mi.

I got a few tickets when I was between 17 and 23 that I wouldn't get now so maybe I was more prone to speed but other than that I still think I was a good driver at a young age.
My father is going to be 75 and he still has a heavy right foot.
going a small amount over the posted speed limit isn't like some people who treat every trip to town as a race.

I have a little old Plymouth Acclaim. I might be getting something else soon but I hate to get rid of my baby. Its been so good.
Its a 1993. It blew an engine in 2005 and my dad said its not hard to put an engine in that car, but the car is too old to justify it. I cried so he found a wrecked Dodge Aries K and said the engine was the same or close enough anyway. So he put that in.
Its been so wonderful. My dad said you could have boughten the exact same car for less money than he would have charged a customer to swap out the engine.

My Gran Torino is pretty sweet. I don't have any pics of mine (that are good) but, here's an example of one I found on one of the internets. Mine's 'Pine Green', however.

I think that's a 67 because if I remember my Camaros properly the 68 has cornering lamps but it's the same body otherwise.
That has the RS stripes and the SS package and it's a convertible. I can't squint enough to tell but I think the fender badge says that it has a 396. All those answers make that about a $35000 car.

That looks like a '67 SS. The rear quarters are scrunched down and the top of nose hangs over the lower part a lot.
The headlamps look like a custom job, though. The 'Flip Up' headlamps didn't really appear until late '69 to early '70s - mostly in the Dodge Chargers/Challengers.
The paint is most likely custom. It almost looks 'Pearled' - not original. It also has custom chrome rims, so I wouldn't disregard it as a custom car.
Also, I can't tell if it's a reflection on the ground or what - but, if those are exhaust pipes sticking out the side it's a custom job.
Hell, I don't know. Spartan probably does, though.

Wow! Hasn't is been, like, forever since you started tracking down this driver's license?
What's the hold up? Your final age?
Or, does it always take this long?
In Michigan, if you're over 18 you can just walk into the DMV (Dept. of Motor Vehicles) and take a written test (multiple choice) of 50 question (80% to pass).
You get a 30-day Permit to drive with another licensed driver ("Two permits don't equal a license, Missy!" - Clueless).
After 30 days, minimum, you take a guy for a ride and BAAM! - Done!
Of course, you have to be over 18.
I'm not sure about being under, anymore, but, back in '93, when I was a teen we had it all done over a weekend.
2 days in a class. 1 day in a parking lot and on some random roads.
Then you'd have your permit (at age15) until you turned 16 and automatically got your license.
