Thanks for the link. I don't know whether to get mad or laugh. The anchor man says "do I really have to respond to that?" And they rarely put their own view on a story other than to just report it.
I am glad they finally caught up with her, but even though she was sheepish a bit she was more disappointed they caught up with her than anything else. And she also tries to cushion the blow by saying that by taking a lump sum and then taxes its just a little over half.
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed a bill that is going to force welfair recipients to pass a drug teat in order to be able to receive benefits.
I think that's long overdue. I hope every state follows suit on this.

Was that on the level? 'Don't you think you're taking a little too much when there's tax payers struggling?'
'Not really, I don't have a job, and I do have expenses. I have 2 houses......'
Its too bad that's what this world is coming to.
Sometimes I really worry and I hope the coming generation has a chance to prove me wrong but they're all rather unable to step in. And in 15 to 20 years that's who is going to be running the world.
I realize the American way was founded to work hard and hope the next generation doesn't have to work quite as hard. And each generation should have a bit easier life. Things are invented and established making it so we don't have to keep reinventing the wheel.
I just wish more people helped themselves to be more independent. I am a jack of all trades. I can do my own house repair, my own car repair, and most of whatever needs doing I can do myself. My dad was like that and I am too. So is Alan and I'm working on Jason to be that way too.
Therefore I become less than pleased when I see someone who received lottery winnings. *I don't mind the lottery winnings* you buy your ticket you bought your chance and if your ship comes in fine. The social services needed to cut her off right away though not go through all this national publicity making the rest of us angry before they say 'oh yeah' and finally do the right thing.
If this woman had any decency at all she'd return at least whatever social services she received since winning the lotto. If she had any class she could also return about a year of back welfair as a way of saying thank you and return the favor.
That would in-deer her to a lot of people if she was to say 'this is about a year's worth of social services' *10 or 20 thousand* and return it. You know how good that would make her look?
It doesn't seem like this girl is all there unless she's what they call dumb like a fox.

Good video Phil. Just an example of someone milking the system. That woman would be the first to complain if they shorted her on the check too I am positive of that.

There's too much of an 'I deserve it ' attitude going around. I know some landscapers who do not work winter jobs but they take unemployment. Their answer is 'I work all summer.' Unemployment is for people who have lost their job and its a bridge while they look for new employment not a treat for people who work a seasonal job.
That sickens me that lax attitude of entitlement. Its shown here too with 'I need the money, I have 2 houses' yoU DON'T NEED SOCIAL SERVICES WHEN YOU ARE SITTING ON $400,000 YOU DUMMY!

if I had $400,000.00 I would be jumping for joy. I don't get how anyone can say times are hard I have 2 houses to pay for. you only need one house to live in and she just bought a new car. times are hard as it is and people are strugeling everywhere especially when hours are cut. the lady is pretty much stealing from the poor. people who have lost their jobs deserve welfare not someone sitting on thousands of dollars with a new car and two houses.

As all of you know I had a seasonal job. I had two choices. Save it for a rainy day, or do some odd jobs in the off season. Being a AA ball player I wasn't seeing the figures Alex Rodriguez was receiving and living on a budget was the solution. I have no explanation at all to defend that girl's stance of two houses a new car and nearly 400k in hand and needing welfair.

If you have 400, grand and you are still accepting social services you will get no sympathy from anybody about how many expenses you have.

If I had $400K, I would invest that sum in good growth stock mutual funds and live off the dividends/interest without touching the principle.
The average for the stock market over the last 70 years has been 10-12%.
That's $40,000 a year. It's what I make now (+/-).... for doing nothing!!!
