Is everybody following this? I haven't been but its being talked about among people I know and I have to stay up on it whether I want to or not so here goes nothing.
Dr Conrad Murray is on trial for the accidental or possibly not accidental death of Michael Jackson. Obviously healthy men generally do not die at 50 if they're not under the influence of too many drugs, the wrong drugs or possibly under shoddy medical care.
With Jackson now deceased and buried and even if his body were ordered exhumed natural settlement and decomposition would mask some evidence rendering what can be obtained to have a shadow of doubt or inconclusiveness.
Obviously if this doctor is responsible for Jackson's death being that Jackson died as a result of this doctor's incompetence, carelessness or malice he should not get away with it.
We do know that Jackson had a plenitude of addictions and unusual behavior over his lifespan and it would not be impossible for him to just overdose on something or have the time and effects of things catch up to him.
The problem I see is it can be difficult for the doctor or anybody in his position.
We all know Michael Jackson was a popular performer, the King of Pop and that also means that since fans do not want him to die they could be very interested in someone to blame for the death of the King of Pop and that places Dr Murray in a very compromised position.
I still do not know much about the trial or what is going to unfold but that's what I see in the early going.

I don't know much about the case either. I tend to think its somewhat of a news grab or sour grapes. That's not to say I don't agree with you about the doctor's career being in trouble even if he is found not guilty there's always going to be some who doubt his validity making him a tainted figure however this may turn out.
It also comes down to a celebrity situation. If that had been 1 of us does anyone thing 2 years later this case comes to the forefront? I don't think so.
For all we know the outcome of this doctor's involvement might end up changing who gets to keep Michael's assets. In most instances they've been divided by now but this being such a high profile wealthy person the estate could still be tied up meaning there's need for this investigation. I hope its not just about money and assets but I'm afraid it might be.

My best friend is a huge fan and even came here from Canada this Summer to visit Never land Ranch. I watch it on CNN. Dr. Murray administered a IV drug to Michael that is used to sedate in surgery/hospital settings only.Dr. Murray then proceeded to take personal calls and leave Michael alone to die. When he finally discovered Michael unconscious he did not call 911 but called his girlfriend and personal assistants. He asked Michael's bodyguards to retrieve the propanahol drugs and IV.When help finally arrived Michael was clinical dead.Murray has said Michael administered the drugs to himself while Murray was out of the room.

That testimony is looking incriminating for Dr. Murray. The only leg he has to stand on is it all comes down to whether or not people believe his defense the deceased can't testify. If Michael was undergoing his treatment its doubtful Michael had the ability to sneak in a shot of something while the doctor took a phone call.
That's about as likely as my 8 year old gulping down a Budweiser while I post this reply and me not seeing him until later when my wife goes to the fridge to get out the roastbeef and sees a can of beer missing and finds an empty can in the garbage. Asks me if I had a beer and we conclude that Eric took it while I was posting at lewasite. That's quite a longshot and I'd feel pretty undermined to have my 8 year old pull a fast 1 like that on me.
What I'm hearing looks pretty negligent on the part of Dr. Murray.

You are right Phil..Murray looks like a self absorbed incompetent physician.

He has that kind of Jack Kevorkian stare to him. I know judging by looks is not accurate but I would not want to receive treatment from him.

i have to say I do think the doctor is guilty. and if he is how sad that he thought getting jackson's money was more important and never gave a crap if jackson's life left 3 kids heartbroken and fatherless. those kids are going to grieve the rest of their life and I hope if the doctor is found guilty that judge hits him hard. any doctor knows if there is a accident you call 911 first thing. I know many people loved him and his music and want to see justice done.

I think a celebrity trial will finally get a conviction this time.

They found him guilty. It seems to be mostly felt that he didn't intend for Michael to die but his carelessness brought that on. In some ways its too bad Michael was a hypochondriac because it seems that if you're a hypochondriac sooner or later a treatment will do you in just cause your body can only take so much.
It looks like its over now in that segment though that this doctor will be held accountable for what happened.

I am so glad he was found guilty. I was not prepared for him being put in handcuffs and reprimanded to jail. I assumed he would be free on bond until the sentencing. It was a pleasure to see the look on his face when the cuffs came out. He thought he had control of the situation . Those cuffs told a different story.

i am glad he is in jail to. to many celebrities get away with so many crimes and it's not right. things need to change. lindsay went to jail and due to overcrowding went free. paris hilton had everyone feel sorry for her because she spent like 2 weeks in jail even though she was protected. nicole ritchie spent like a few minutes in there cause she was pregnet. it's great to see justice done.

I'm glad they didn't dole this out for several years and satiate the whole country or world for that matter with this and beat it to death and destroy all the evidence pro and con until everybody becomes disgusted with the way things are being done only to end up with a tainted verdict anyway. At least that didn't happen.

I haven't watched much of the trial or really followed it. I had heard about the verdict. No matter what happened, I knew they were going to nail someone to the cross over Jackson's death. Do I think he's guilty?
He probably is.
Do I really care in the bigger scheme of things?
Nope.
I would expect the lawsuit from the Jackson family (especially the scumbag father) any day now.

I guess I have mixed feelings about this. I don't want someone to be a scapegoat, but if his carelessness or incompetence caused a death he should be held accountable for it.
Michael was a bit odd and sought strange treatments for bizarre reasons but he didn't deserve to die because of it.

He got a 4 year prison sentence. That seems light for a guilty verdict.

That doesn't seem like a lot for being responsible for a death. I think it needs to be a longer sentence if he was guilty or nothing at all if not guilty four years is only half the time we have had Lewasite for crying out loud.
