I hardly have enough money to fuel my tank and I have a simple Ford Taurus. My dad says he can make a funnel that goes from my butt to the gas tank and Id be able to keep the car fueled. ;D
The truth is seriously that I cant always afford a full tank and I have to say if I put in $30 it will be almost a full tank and hope it goes a week.

I am with you Phil. I have a F350 4x4 and I get brutal gas mileage too. And like your Chevy it gets bad gas mileage. Well not bad so much as that's all a big truck is capable of.

I just don't think it has to be this bad. Its a thieving scandal within the government and taxes and the gasoline retailers. During the Bush years the Bush Bashers were all over him that it was Bush and his oil buddies. What is it now though? We're 2 and a half years past the Bush Presidency and prices are still rising. Who is to blame now?

OH! I must still be Bush!
40 years from now, when gas is $35/gal. it will be Bush's fault.

The thing is I can understand inflation. I was about 10 gas was 1.30 but it went down when I was in my junior year it was down to about .88 I remember that because that was 1988 but it went back up and stayed between 1.05 and 1.30. Until recent years.
Ok, things go up. When I was about 10 years old I'd ride my bike into town get a can of Pepsi or Coke for .45 and a candy bar for a quarter. If the bar is .75 now and the drink is about !.25 gas could be about 2.50 a gallon that would be reasonable inflation. Not these crazy things they're doing to us now to rip us off.

Time for a bump.
Prices are heading back through the roof again. Iran continues to rattle its saber and threaten war by cutting off the Strait of Hormuz. Obama shut down the Keystone oil pipeline project, costing us thousands of jobs and the ability to import Canadian oil (they're now going to sell it to China). On top of that, his moratorium on drilling in the gulf still remains in effect (which was nothing more than him capitalizing on the BP accident). The Saudi's are cutting their production. Everything is adding up to my original prediction. The possibility that we're going to see 7-8 dollar gas this summer is VERY likely.
Obama's energy policies, which I mentioned before, has choked the market and driven up the price. And he's done it on purpose. From a leftist perspective, especially the radical leftist environmentalists, they are loving these high prices because they hope it will push people towards alternative energy cars like the Volt, and choke off more of our freedom and ability to move. Relying on government transportation like busses makes people more reliant on the government. Not only this, he will be able to seize more power over the economy, demonize "those evil oil companies", and further boost the control he has over the citizenry.
What's really disgusting is that the mainstream media is protecting him. They blame the oil companies, a more industrialized China, Iran's sabre rattling, the Saudi production levels, and U.S. policy in the Middle East. But nobody seems to mention the fact that Obama has essentially shut down all domestic production to the point that it is at a near standstill.
Because he won't drill, because he hates American independence and freedom, the price is going up. Fasten you're seatbelts, members. This is going to SUCK. Hard. And it won't get better because we have a leftwing radical in the White House who WANTS you to suffer. He won't bend. He won't move.
The only solution to high prices is domestic drilling. It's that simple. Asking the Saudi's to produce more does nothing in the long term. It creates American jobs and helps the American economy. To not do this means those in power do not want American jobs and a good American economy. Environmentalists come to mind. And image of Obama before that.
As the price of gas goes, up, people will be putting more of their money towards gas instead of other things. Food prices will go up again due to transportation costs. The final result will be an economic contraction that could be as bad as the 2008 recession if not even worse.
High gas prices = a strain on the economy.
I'll leave with two quotes. Indisputable quotes.
"Under my policies, energy prices will necessarily skyrocket". ~Barack Hussein Obama
"Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe." (That's roughly $10 per gallon) ~Steven Chu (Obama's Energy Secretary)
This is being done on purpose.

I am pissed!!!!!!!!! Ok. You all know my vehicle. I have a big 4 wheel drive. Perhaps I don't have to have that particular vehicle. As it is now it takes about 100 at a pop to top the tank off. Sometimes I stop it at 100 and it could take a little bit more.
Now, granted I chose to have a big 4 wheel drive I do not have to have it. I could have something more fuel efficient.
The 4 things Obama pushed when he ran were 1. Lower gas prices 2. Creating more jobs 3. Lowering the national deficit. 4. Getting us out of Iraq in 16 months.
I was not in favor of that 4th item since there should be no time frame to end a war you end it when your work is done not on a specific date but that didn't happen anyway. So he is 0 for 4 on the things that helped get him elected.
Our debt is through the roof and congress managed to 'raise the credit limit' instead of paying it down before charging against it.
Creating more jobs? As Jersey said thousands of jobs could have been created with the keystone program that Obama would have no part of. By the way it would also make the United States more self sufficient and less dependent on foreign supply. George Bush wanted to drill at home in 2002 but the 'green people' would hear nothing of that.
Had we allowed that a decade ago we would be well on our way to using that home drilled oil. Cheaper gas prices and more jobs. There's 2 on the list of 4 right there., That is is Obama was interested in the betterment of this country. The national debt would naturally lower too. Not having to buy as much foreign oil would begin to lower the debt immediately.
Just like if you have more cash you don't need your credit cards as much to get through each month.
Instead B O has put the full court press on his welfare like healthcare plan that includes mandatory infanticide.
Please watch my late 2008 and early 2009 videos. I made it very clear I did not vote for him but it was a fair election and he won and I was willing to give him a chance.
If anybody did vote for Obama and would like to weigh in on this. I'd be interested..... and I promise not to create hostility we have had enough of that here over the years...... I just want to know if anybody voted for Obama and intends to again, the question is what has he done that pleases you?
Cause I want to know. Not to rebut it necessarily.

If this country doesn't become more self sufficient the economy is done for.

Come to So Cal..Gas is almost 5 dollars a gallon.. it's not even Summer yet. On my way home from work I put put fuel in my truck. The pump was set to stop at $100. The truck would have been willing to take a few more dollars. Don't get me wrong its almost full, the gauge is pointed at the full line but It would have taken a bit more had the pump not stopped at $100. This is a bit ridiculous. I don't complain that my big 4x4 doesn't get the mileage of my wife's Buick. The Buick doesn't pull my camper trailer or plow snow either. So there's the trade off but even to fuel up the Buick its over $60.

I have the Ford equivalent to Phil's truck. I know what you mean about mileage. I also have a Mustang that can get better mileage than it does but not the way I drive it. hahaha.
I have an Explorer that does alright on mileage.

They're expecting some places like California, Long Island and parts of Texas to be paying $6 a gallon within a couple weeks.
Try as they might, the liberals, the greenies, and Obama will NEVER force me into buying a hybrid or an electric car. It is not the right or parameter of the government to influence the free market and drive up the price of a commodity in order to force people towards something else that they desire for you.
I'm happy to call that totalitarianism every day. Because that's what it is.

i like what phil said about the economy. creating more jobs is something where I am we need desperately. I have applied to 3 places in one week and have herd nothing. the reason I am desperate for a second job is I have charged up gift cards and sold them on ebay for cash to pay my credit cards. yes this was a stupid mistake on my part I realize it now to late. we are going into the middle of march I still don't have my hours. well coming this saturday I might be short to the tune of $200.00 on credit card bills. I called my friend and asked if she knew a good lawer. she gave me the number of a cheap one and I have to see about applying for bankruptcy. I also read there are many people taking loans out to pay their bills. some people have said obama has done many great things. I just don't see it. my friend's husband lost his job and has been out of work since Janurary. something needs to get done and they need to do it now. I know kmart is going down because I can see we have not been doing good since last spring. maybe jobs were created but I may have to move far away to find one.

Obama just continues to double down on his policy of trying to push America away from oil. If he keeps doubling down on it he's only going to bury himself.
Gas prices hurt EVERYONE across the board. And it is one of the few things that the POTUS can actually help with. Obama chooses to hurt.
