Yes Phil obviously Blastgirl and I want to know his progress too. But if your father is anything like you then I know he's a tough guy and he will be all right.

No major news. They're going to keep him for at least a day or 2. I didn't know there were mild cases but they're saying he has a mild case of pneumonia.
He's definitely not feeling like himself because if he does and they don't want to release him he would feel like a caged animal and that wasn't the case last night or this morning when I talked to him. I finished work at 730am and stopped in to see him but they were doing tests and things I couldn't really stay.

Pneumonia in an elderly individual is never a good thing, but at least he has a mild case and is seeking medical attention for it. I know how it can be getting these stubborn older guy to see a doctor, as I go through it with my father and my girlfriend and her mother barely managed to get her father checked out earlier than he initially planned. Turned out it was in the nick of time, and lifesaving measure could be planned and successfully performed.
I'm glad to hear he is going to be fine. Keep us posted with any more updates.

Im sorry Phil. I hope things go well. The important thing is for him not to hurry out because its boring. Get the attention he needs and heal properly.

No news to speak of except that his condition seems to be improving.
He really has needed for a few years to change his habits. More fruits and veggies and less peanuts and icecream. Strawberry flavored ice cream does not count as fruit.
But eating only hospital meals and having to be still for the last 3 days has made him rested. He never really rests either. At age 77 he should slow it down a notch too.

UPDATE: On Friday he came home from the hospital. He went right back into his routines. Friday and Saturday he went to his place where he keeps his old cars and tractors.
Sunday morning at 630am he dropped dead from a heart attack. It looked like he could bounce back like he has a few other times but not this time. RIP David James 'Jim' Ostrotkiewicz August 5, 1933 - January 16, 2011.

Well. I'm very sorry Phil. There's no easy way to discuss a subject like that. Obviously our family's condolences go out to you and Jason. And obviously Alan.
The rest of your family too but I mentioned first the three members of your family that we know.

Classic left me a sticky note on the computer that Phil's Dad has passed away. I was just going to go to bed but I had to log in to weigh in here.
I know you have told many stories about your Dad and how he has shaped you and therefore how you wish to shape your Kids. I think that' leaves a lot to build on. But of course I am sorry to learn of this and our Prayers are with you and your Family.
