Phil sent me a comment on my YouTube channel saying I should come by. I've been AWOL for a while because the start of this new semester has been very, very busy. Note to all college students: Try to avoid taking 18 credits if you don't have to. I unfortunately needed to do so this semester (I want to graduate in 4 years) and the amount of work has me running around like a chicken without a head. Basically, when I'm not doing homework or lifting weights, I'm sleeping.
Also, it turns out I need to have orthoscopic surgery on my knee to remove scar tissue and bone fragments. This is being done to accelerate my rehab and get me up to full strength for the upcoming season. As a result I won't be able to do spring ball, so I'm trying to deal with the disappointment from that along with everything else I've been up to.
That's about it really. How is everyone?

You should be ok and ready for the fall football season though?
I hope that you are. I can't imagine losing a whole season. I know a lot of people who have but I've been rather lucky about injuries. I've missed around 2 weeks on about three occasions in my time but fortunately I've never been sidelined longer than that. One of the times I should have sat out longer but I managed to play through it.

It's nice to see you back Jersey Life. The boards are a little nicer when you're here. I'm sorry you're not healed yet.
I will say some prayers that you're able to play this year like Classic said if not Spring ball at leas the fall football season.

It's good that you stopped in. I hope you will more often.
I'm sorry the knee isn't ready for spring football. I know what its like to long for something and not be able to have it.

I'm just wondering this injury happened a while ago. How come they're just getting around to surgery now?
Obviously they sometimes think if you wait a while it might heal nicely enough on its own and you would be better off if they did not need to operate. The only thing is if they had done the operation sooner you might and probably would be on the way to heeled by now and would probably have been in this year's Spring Ball.
If they're going to operate now it's going to be too late for this Spring season.

I have been just as remiss about coming online. My brother here has reminded me in a number of e mails and even a text or two.
It's me not anybody else. I am not that often online for reasons other than work ordering or looking up information for work and e mail. I hardly ever do sites. When I do I come here.
It happens that I can't sleep right now so here I am. I'm usually up at about 5:30 I'm about an hour early today.

You're an earlybird Thunderbird. You probably start work around 7am. I'm the opposite I'm just leaving work at 7am.

Do you live near the Beach Jersey Life?

Jersey! Hola, amigo. ¿Como esta?
Hey! I'm looking at replacing my exhaust. With funds, perhaps I can put up a vid that challenges yours.
I just found out that my tail pipes are rusted through.

is it more fun to have a exast that is loud? i guess it makes the engine breathe easier and then it makes it go faster

Classic
I will be ready for the fall season. Missing last season with this injury and now this spring ball really sucks, but the point is that I need to get healthy. As far as to why the surgery is being done now is exactly what you said. The doctor hoped I would heal a lot better than I actually did, and didn't bring surgery up until it became necessary. And yes, it's going to be too late for the spring practices. Theres also the fact that the buildup of scar tissue is the result of the tissue I ripped up healing and turning hard over the last couple of months time. I'm struggling to deal with it, but I'll be back and better than ever.
Blastgirl
I appreciate the well wishes and prayers. I know I'm not around as much as I usually am, but I will try to be here when I can. It's become very hard to find time for forums. But since I'm known and respected here, I'll try. Also, I do happen to live near the beach, but I've never been a real big beach person.
Phil
Thanks for reminding me. I hadn't realized just how long I had been gone. And thanks for the well wishes.
Kimm
Nice to see you too. I'll make an effort to be around more.
Mahnarch!
Bien, bien. Y tu? Thats about all I can remember from spanish in high school. As for the exhaust, I would suggest doing what I did. Go for a new cat-back system, and for extra sound put some headers on there. The prospect of a whole second pipe is nice but its wayyyyy too expensive for anybody in these trying times. Rusted tailpipes are inevitable unfortunately.
Jason
All the dogs are doing pretty good. My dad bowls with an 87 year old man who moves pretty slow and is sometimes forgetful. So, my dad calls Chance, the old dog, Wayne as a joke. And yeah, a better muffler and twin pipes help an engine breathe better, run smoother, and accelerate faster. And trust me, it's much more fun to have an exhaust system that is louder.

Your health has to be number one. I'm on my harder workout plan right now because I'm going to camp on the 25th I got my info.
I get to take a laptop so I might actually be on nearly everyday this time. I rented a suite in a Super 8 for the summer instead of an apartment. its about the same price and it has house keeping and new furniture. When I'm on home stands Blastgirl and the boys will come to me and I'll get to my house once in a while there's going to be 4 game series with teams that are within an hour of here so I'll stay at my house during those times rather than at a motel with the team.
We will see how it goes. It would have been easier if I had stayed with the original team but that wasn't possible so we shall make the best of it this way.
Get your self in shape for the fall. You're going into your last year aren't you?

I've been guilty of not being around as much as I should be too.
I'm glad you're going to be able to play fall football Jersey. I hope you're fully healed by then. Make sure you are don't take chances of reinjuring yourself that would be really bad.

Estoy bien, tambien. Wissen zie ein.....no, wait. That's German.
Jason:
There's different advantages to different exhaust systems. If you go small, it chokes out the horsepower. Normal sizes give you a descent performance.
If you go with a header system with a scavenger pipe connecting a manifold back system you can get a lot of lower end grunt but no extra horsepower.
If you go too big you'll lose back pressure and also lose a lot of heat, burning the exhaust valves in the process from the hot-cold-hot-cold differentials.
Also, not everyone wants loud all the time. I like a quiet tune at idle but something a little throaty on acceleration.
So, it can take a little research and know how to get what you want, exactly. For the last few years I've been using a Cherry Bomb Vortex, single in/dual out system in the 3 inch set up. The only problem is: I have a Class III hitch, so I have to heat and bend the tailpipes to go under the hitch - instead of on each side of it.

I can do a lot of my own car repairs. When I had my 87 Chevy 4 speed truck I actually rented a cherry picker and swapped my own motor in my driveway. I doubt I could do that with my truck I have now.

You could probably see the whole motor by looking over the fender on your old truck. Good thing Blastgirl's father has a shop my Mustang has that cab forward thing and its hard to reach stuff.

I can do fuel injection repairs blindfolded. It's the carbed cars I have a problem with (head scratching and figuring it out - not 'totally oblivious')
I could still have your transmission on my bench within half an hour if I wanted. The engine would take a few hours, at most. I'd also have to remove the hood, now-a-days. What with all the extra crap.
***
"Cab Forward" is every tech's nightmare. It turned an F-150's 20 minute spark plug change into a 3 hour ordeal.
Only to appease the customer with an extra half a foot of space.
Also, Classic, has your intake manifold cracked, yet? Leaking antifreeze all over then engine?
Ford started out putting a plastic/carbon fiber intake on the 4.6L engine (Grand Marquis, Crown Victoria, Mustang, etc..). The plastic/carbon would crack after a few years and leak/spray all over the alternator - which killed it (the bearings)....and killed the serpentine belt....and stained the paint jobs on the hoods, fenders and rooves from the steam.
