If we could combine what Phil has had weatherwise and what Beangirl is having we all would get about 50 degrees. That's not so good though. Not warm enough to go swimming and too warm for skiing and snowboarding. I guess its all for the good.

We've got "snow melting temperatures" according to George Lessons (Demona and I's weather guy), which means 33 degrees with a little bit of sun.
Saturday and Sunday are going to be filled with more snow, though.
I hate this stuff. My dogs love it, though - once the pack hardens they get to casually walk over the fence.
I've been pretty vigilant at keeping the snow down at the fence line, though. Even though they can stand 5ft from the fence and be a foot over it's top.

Complete extremes from Phil's weather to Beangirl's. Understood that in the sixties is a bit cold for L A that's still a long way from eight inches of snow and ice.

Here in Los Angeles it is clear and sunny. Chilly though. in the sixties.. The 60s I hope you have a big fur coat. How do you get through that? I'm sure it gets rather excessive in the heat through the summer. I don't mind being out in the heat as much as I do in the cold. Having to work outside sometimes in single didgit temps is rather rough. I don't mind sweating like a pig in the summer as badly. I could only imagine taking my kids to the beach on Christmas. To an east coast boy that seems strange. But it probably makes sense to California people. I wonder for the kids having summer weather all year long how school gets into the mix. I mean I remember how I felt when I was my kids age getting spring fever and when the weather got warm being anxious for school to be over. Even in September we still have warm days although the nights start getting cooler. Going to school at least from a easterner's point of view is way easier when its cooler out.

It was snowing like crazy yesterday, and at times ice crystals fell from the sky. Right now it isn't snowing, but our weather man said that it might snow again on Friday and during the weekend. What stinks is that I have to work during those times. It always seems to me that I get scheduled to work on days when the weather is the worst, but I didn't have to work yesterday, when it was really bad out, and I don't have to work today.

It's still snowing here. I have had to plow at least once a day for most of this winter.
I was on lewasite a little late because my mother called saying that the town road plow had left a huge drift in their driveway that it was not a good risk to try to get through it in a regular car. It's not usually that bad but when the road has excessive snow then the plow drifts excessive too.
So I went over and plowed. AGAIN!!!

It 14 degrees and light flurries right now.
This week sucked! All of my drivers showed up late to the warehouse because of the weather, which made my days go long.
Also, I sent one of my drivers to Corbin, Kentucky on Monday. It was supposed to be a regular trip: 11 hours there. 11 back.
....it took him 3 days.
He said that all was well and fine until he hit Indianapolis. Then it was about10-20mph from there.
Good thing the company reimburses our hotel stays (or pre-pays them).

They threatened a strom today but they changed their mind. Yesterday and today have been about 30-35 degrees. The streets are dry and some of the excess snow is melting but it will take a lot more than that.
What I fear is sometimes we suddenly get 40 + and rain that would mean big floods I really hope that doesn't happen.

I just heard that this is the most snow we have had from Nov 1 to Feb 1 since 1977. What about Global Warming? How is this possible?
Its snowing right now we will probably end up with 2 to 4 inches of new snow.

Yes! WHERE IS THE GLOBAL WARMING I WAS PROMISED, AL GORE!!
Thursday evening we had the roof on one of our trailers collapse.
#306 hasn't seen an interstate in a few weeks so it built up quite the glacier of snow/ice on the roof (which is only a fiberglass sheet supported by tin supports every 5ft).
It was too much.

We did get a warm day, yesterday, though. Melted a lot of the stuff away from the fence line.

that global warming thing is probably not true theyare saying we are close to a record cold average and a record snowfall. they are saying that if the 2nd half or the winter is the same as we have had so far that both records will be beaten

Los Angeles has just been blasted with a huge rain storm. It came from the Gulf of Alaska so it is a cold one. A lot of the burn areas from last Summer's fire storms are flooding and sliding. Now that I work as a People Greeter at Wal Mart I never cease to be amazed. Customers are SO shocked to have rain! Hey... It is Winter. We have rain and cold... And in the Summer? They bellyache about the heat. Go figure?

sometimes rain does make it pretty cold right after Usually it does. I'm not sure about Global warming. If it is true I don't believe that there's much we can do about it. There's no real proof that temperatures are warming up.
