I just got up about an hour ago.
I feel like I'm getting old and stiff.
Lastnight sucked at work.
I had to put a new furnace in a building down the street from headquarters. They figured that us being on the roof when nobody was in there to be disrupted so they figured the overnight workers could freeze our butts off because we're just the grunts around there.
I'm sure glad I keep gloves and hats in my truck at all times.
One of the other workers was really hurting.

From what you describe its normal to be assigned outside work. Is that true?
If it is why would that guy not come prepared? If he just figured he would wing it then he deserved to freeze.
I think a lot of people who are at work when the rest of us are sound asleep are taken for granted but that office building was ready to go thanks to the thirdshift workers.

Hey! CSX finally finished that RxR crossing this week! I stopped and asked them what the deal was. They said that Phil told them to 'Git R Done', so they did.
Thanks, man!!! Big help! lol

No problemo Mahnarch anything I can do to get the road crossings up sooner.
I've been sworn at spit at and even had death threats for working where a roadcrossing is closed.

I've had people get out of their car and yell at us like we have some say about letting them through.
We don't make those decisions anyway.

And their belligerent protest doesn't get them through? I'm shocked. ;D

Heh! That's when you point to the 4ft deep cut in the asphalt and tell them to 'go right ahead'.
Then, place bets with co-workers........
I guess I get a better deal than you. Usually the people that get mad at me never get to say it to my face.
Once in a great while I'll get a middle finger out the window but, I show 'em with a nice long toot on the air horn. (hence the need for a 'train horn') Then, they get angry a few miles later when I pass them on the right cuz they're idiots who don't pay attention to what the hell they're doing.
I'll set cruise to 64 and a half mph (digital setting) as soon as I'm on the highway and pass whoever, whenever. These idiots will race around me like they're on a fire run and then slowly drift down to 60 while living in the passing lane. As soon as I pass them on the right they speed back up.
It's like they need the fumes from my exhaust to keep their engines powerful. Or, the fumes from my seat cushion - which ever is more potent............*group* "Cushion!"
OH, Gotta tell ya! I sustained 57.4mpg for almost 3 miles tonight - pretty much steady! When you're driving eastbound on I-96, just east of Marne, the highway starts a slow decline (1/16th% grade, if that) until it reaches the outer edges of Grand Rapids. I flipped off.....err, turned off, Cruise and feathered the accelerator manually for a bit.
From mile marker 23 (Marne exit) to marker 26 (Fruit Ridge Ave. exit) I maintained 56.9-57.5 mpg and only lost 3mph. Pretty good for a rig that usually sits at 8.5 on level cruise.

Mahnarch you have great solutions for just about any annoying person.
Jersey Life and I have been discussing people who steal your parking space in 1 of their economy jobbers. Granted my fullsized longbed pickup doesn't turn around in as little space. But if the snowplow happens to be on the front we could push them forward.

It is a little-known fact that the actual purpose of "brush bars" is pushing annoying subcompacts away from your parking spot.

nope, we get a tiny bit on the east, and I remember six years ago we had snow here but it was more ice and slush. We have an oceanic climate, I think. not too warm or too cold. its good in some respects, but mostly, its annoying. Rain is really boring.....

I bet you've never seen one of these then. I tried to find a truck that looked like Phil's for this post.
