This past week in the city of Harbor Gateway California a family was driveing and two gangmembers saw them flashed gangs signs at them then open fired at their SUV wounding the six year old boy when a bullet entered his head. It is such a tragedy to happen to innocent people.

Thats the worst kind of tragedy too.
I'm one of those people that thinks individuals like that could be executed and skip the trial.
That's why people like me aren't put to make those decisions.
Is he still in critical condition?

That's demented to shoot a kid.
I'm often shocked how often parents allow their kid to get in harm's way.

Ah, when it happens like that there's little to nothing you can do.
I feel sick to my stomach that people get injured and sometimes killed that way. I've worked for numerous charities and although it's rewarding, it is often very sad because you see some people who were victims of similar events.

It's so terrible when a child was hurt.

The world gets increasingly sick more from within.
When I was a kid we always were discussing the possibility of a 3rd world war and a nuclear war against Russia. Never did it occur to us that we could be shot.
Now its the otherway around. Problems like world wars are less likely but you have to watch your setp just going outside.

I'm one of those people that thinks individuals like that could be executed and skip the trial. This. I would string them up and let them rot in the elements - naked, for all to see and laugh at. I'd also have the fire department stop by every half hour and hose them down with cold water until they're dead. Set an example to other would-be gangsters.

Theres no rehabilitating some people. Sick minded people that would have no problem harming a child dont have any rights as far as Im concerned.

I just reread my own comment and I second it.
See....I see all life - human, animal and plant - as sacred (I'm not 'extremist'. I eat meat and stuff..) but, once you've tormented or killed something/one for the wrong reasons - you are no longer a living thing in my eyes. You are a rock that is in my way and needs dynamiting.
Even if an eight year old kid trapped a cat and tormented it to death, that kid would no longer be a life worth saving (especially if he enjoyed it).
In fact, I caught a couple of 8 year olds catching frogs down by the pond at my mom's old place when I was about 16. They were catching frogs and grabbing them by the legs and smashing them against nearby trees (obviously, killing them), and throwing them back into the pond.
I grabbed them by the collars and dragged them home to tell on them.
.....they got beat. .........and I felt good about it.
Gangs are the same way. They're killing people, instead of frogs, but, WHY?!!
Ask a gang member. They don't even know why! They just do! Because they're S.T.U.P.I.D.
They'll follow anyone with a bigger *enter anything here (bandana/car/shlong/stick/etc)*
Idiots.

Good post Mahnarch. Jason is a very strong advocate of respecting nature and therefore I know that his circle of friends are too at least around him.
I'm starting to take my other son on walks through the woods near the house and to the creek. That kid is obsessed with the creek. He is only 4 years old, but he is old enough to go for walks and sturdy enough to maintain It's a good chance to introduce nature to him a little bit more 1st hand.

True that. Most city folks have only seen nature in pictures.
It's good that your boys have the real thing that they can touch, feel and smell.....even if nature is kinda stinky once in awhile.
My nephew is obsessed with the creek and resultant pond behind my mums old place.
After tomorrow she will be fully moved into my house so he's going to miss that pond on visits with gramma.
I've got plenty of nature things around here to play with, though.
