Governor Elliott Spitzer is being given 48 hours to resign after the scandal of a prostitution ring. Spitzer was elected in November of 2006 and took office in January of 2007. Just 14 months later he is on the brink of having to resign in disgrace.
What a stupid thing to get involved in a prostitution ring and think you wont get caught.

What makes elected officials think they're above the law.
He should resign just for the preservation of the integrity of the job but he probably will not resign. Instead he will stand up and take the criticism until the main pressure of this subsides and then he will keep a low profile for a while and then have it forgotten about and he'll probably get reelected.
Disgusting, yes, but probably so. I don't care about him at a time like this but I feel badly for his Wife and three Daughters that's a tremendous amount of suffering. That's the thing if he didn't care about himself he should have thought about his Daughters.
I don't think he thought he would get caught that's the situation there.
They paid their Call Girls well in this ring too if news reports are accurate.

I really didn't expect him to give it up. Its better for his State and his Family not to have further charades over this though. It's for the best.

It is very sad and disturbing, I feel bad for him and his family. It's just like that Ted Haggard and Mark Foley incident, these people are supposed to be leaders in their communities and they fall into a trap it's sad.

You see that as a trap? He had a choice didn't he? It's perspective I guess but to me he had a choice and made a bad 1.

Oh when I ment falling into a trap I meant getting involved with in that kind of behavior and lifestyle I find it disturbing because they are elected leaders. What they do private is their business but when it is illegal or sick I can't go with that.

Some have relationships, some embezzle money, some give jobs to favored and not to people that arent within the clique and some do all of the above.

I was watching on some TV morning show about the whole deal, and supposedly the women in high positions married to these losers feel it's their "duty" to stand by them. If she was smart, she'd publicly humiliate him and kick him where it counts for all to see!
Also, the hooker in question was found to have a Myspace page and some info from her past involves leaving home at 17 from home drama and hoped to become a singer. She didn't escape the shame either now that everyone knows who she is.
Good thing the idiot resigned. Leaders need to set a good example.

I see the new Gov. admitted to having extra marital affairs...Well, better to meet that head on now so it doesn't blow up later in the media.

He's not as hated as Spitzer from what I've heard. And he's a minority and blind so there seems to be a little leeway for such a person. Also since they already drew one resignation they're probably willing to look the other way for this guy.

They asked him if he knew about Spitzer's affairs, he said 'I never saw a thing.'
Bad joke but he deserves it.
