This product is advertised all the time. It's suppose to be basically like gum to stick on a leaking pipe and seal it right up. You can also take three pieces fold them up like gum and hang a mantle on your wall and put your encyclopedias on the mantle. Who needs new pipe anymore? Or even screws or hardware just get Mighty Putty for $19.95. If you order now you get a second tube free. Are people that gullible? The last time anything was that much fun was Minute Mender. Paint on any tear the color matches and it's fixed you can't even find the tear. They have it for clothes it's called "Fabric Mender." Can life ever be so easy? Hahaha. Things you see on TV when you can't sleep.

Epoxy putty has been around for years... nothing new. Mix the components and they harden. Just like any epoxy.

Is it really strong enough to bond the things they show it to bond.

I guess it would depend on the epoxy... not all are the same strength. To pull a truck as shown in the infomercial, something pretty strong had to be used... and a lot of it. It also needed a long cure time, none of that instant curing they show through the rest of the infomercial.

I've seen the infomercial too. If the stuff works like they say it does, then it's pretty cool and useful.
But Billy Mays or whatever his name is annoys the hell out of me. He's a little too into the stuff he tries to sell.

There's this sort of super glue and putty stuff that's like that. Kola-Loka and Pega-Loka. Supposedly can hold a person up if you stick a helmet to the ceiling. But I've used it and followed the instructions but it never really works.

Yeah exactly who needs weld you can get two tubes of Mighty Putty for just 19.95 but that's not all call now and get these lovely sponges. Sponges so strong you can dip them in a lake and squeeze them out in the crater in your back yard and you have an instant swimming pool.
Still not enough? Call now and get this French Fry maker.
All kidding aside, the Mighty Putty probably does help in some applications but I don't see it being as much the savior as the ads make it out to be.
The minute mender paint is funnier. A torn vinyl seat is painted back to normal in minutes and look you can't even see the rip.

He's a little too into the stuff he tries to sell. He annoys me also. The other product I remember Billy Mays advertising was Oxi Clean. It said it would make your white washing whiter, and would take out any stain in your clothes. Wrong! My mom bought that stuff, and it didn't work.

That's because it never works like it did in the commercial. Example: Clothes detergents.

Almost no gimmicky repair really works. It might slow a leak down but it's not really a repair.
Like people who put "Fix a flat" in their tire. It might slow the leak down enough to get you home but you need to properly patch that tire. You're not finished with using Fixaflat.
Thats the messiest thing to get splashed all over you when you dismount a tire too.
But I would put mighty putty in the same bracket as fixaflat.

Basically.
It's a gimmick like any universal fix.
