That concept sounds a little strange but it comes down to just Big Business gaining momentum as it rolls along.
A Century ago Theodore Roosevelt was the main thrust of Breaking up anything that was, could be or was becoming a monopoly.
McDonalds and Starbucks joining forces is nearly as monopolizing as Exxon and Mobile joining forces.

Seriously it does seem that slowly but surely monopolistic companies swallow each other until there's only a few left.

Seems like this is only happening becuase Starbucks is doing poorly in sales and stocks. They're simply not a fresh company anymore and their business model has become outdated.
Whatever the outcome, now you can have your heart attack burger with a side of nasty coffee
