www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSISL332240www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSISL16241old news I suppose but I felt it was appropriate to bring it here. Benazir Bhutto was assasinated by a gun/suicide bomb attack. This is a tragedy for the entire world. Bhutto was a civil rights activist along the lines of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. There is a controvercy over who is responsible, many blame the current president of Pakistan, Musharraf. Musharraf is highly unpopular president who issued emergency rule earlier this year which gave him dictatior-like powers to fire the court justices who were going to make his presidency illigitimate over the controvercy of the elections. This is further illistrated in showing how the crime scene was hosed down with a firehose eliminating evidence. This is one of the biggest things to happen in a while and will (and has) have many repercussions. Such as the riots that happend after the assasination.

Rebellious actions are to be expected once a well known political leader of either side is assassinated. Benazir Bhutto is said to have thought of the Teleban as at once time providing a stabilizing possibility to Afghanistan.
Once she realized the Taliban does not have good objectives it was already to the point of no return.
She went in exile for almost 10 years but asked for immunity from the president Afghanistan
She took a big risk coming out of exile, she probably decided to chance it because exile is a difficult way to live.
