I don't want to stir the perverbial bag of dog poo poo, but I found this interesting article in the 'Daily Telegraph. I'm only looking out for the best health and life of everyone, but I didn't purposly look this up. It was a link from another sight I visit. www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,22133793-5006007,00.html Ritalin poses child crime risk. by Kate Sikora
CHILDREN who use Ritalin for a long period of time could be more at risk of delinquency and substance abuse, a study has found.
Doctors are suggesting children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) should take a break from medication after three years of use.
An American study - published in the Medical Observer _ has found that while drugs such as Ritalin can initially help sufferers, the benefit of prolonged use is in doubt.
Some children stay on medication until they reach 18, but researchers believe it may not protect them from all the symptoms.Click the link for the whole article.

It's true about addiction to things that should help you, I think I might be addicted to lexapro because when I try to stop it I get head-aches and dizzyness.

*Looking up Lexapro........*
OOoohh! Antidepressant linked to suicide thinking? I think you oughta stay away from those, Earl.
Bad ju-ju.
I have a buddy who's psycho ex-wife was on Welbutrin(?) and stranded their kid (7 y.o) out in the countryside because he had to work an extra 2 hours one day. Just dropped him off like someone does a dog. Cops found him about 3 hours later playing in the field.
They're now divorced and my buddy has custody with no visitation rights for her.

How can an antidepressant be linked to suicidal thoughts and still be on the market? What the hell? And Ritalin I hear is popular with those who like to snort it...In that case they deserve what comes to them. Idiots. I don't doubt why a break between meds is good, I think anything can have side effects.

Sniffing Ritalin? That's.....nuts.
Who would think of this?
It's like sniffing beer..... They definately deserve it, then.
Breaks in meds are a good thing, though. Having something that's unnatural inside of you for too long can't be healthy.

This also reminds me of the South Park episode about the schoolchildren getting addicted to cough medicine and thinking that Craig's show about animal closeups was awesome.

Who ever though to of toad licking? People did it though. I've never heard of it...but if we're talking poisonous toads, dying from the toxins in them is far too go just to get "high" which is a dumb idea anyhow.
