A 10 block area of Manhatten is overwelmed with a horiffic oder.
Nobody is sure what brought it on but the mayor feels it's not unsafe to breethe. At least that's what he is being told.
A 10 block area in New York can effect a lot of people.

At least they ruled out terrorism on that problem. Poisoning the air would be a difficult thing to combat.

Good for Manhatten. Will stir up a bit of paranoia (as if there wasn't enough already), they'll call in the police, ambulance, fire department, and there'll be chaos for a few days before they discove it's a broken gas main. God bless America.

I'll bet you if something similar to the towers being attacked happend in your city you might be a little jumpy too. The old saying once bitten twice shy? Well that's basically how New Yorkers felt. I understand. I'm glad it was a minor problem.

If something like the Twin Towers happened in my town, it'd be more a case of: "Oh look, there's a plane sticking out of that building" "Good for the plane" "Not for the building" "True, true. Hey, wanna go do something more interesting than look at a plane sticing out of a building? "Sure" *walks out* And if we had trouble with a broken gas pipe: "Gah, who farted?" "Dunno" "Smells foul" "Don't they all" "Hay wanna go do something more interesting than talk about farting?" "Sure" *walks out*

Did they ever find out exactly what/where the smell was coming from?
