The Democrats gained 30 house seats and about 5 senate seats and 6 Gubertorial seats.
So this is big for the Democrats and rough for traditional voters like myself.
Ed Rendell was reelected PA Gov over former Steelers Receiver Lynn Swan.

I voted yesterday. Straight democratic. Thank goodness. Bob Taft dug Ohio into a deep hole. And Congress is now basically controlled by the Democrats. It looks like The Decided (aka. Mr. George Dubya Bush) is going to have a harder time doing whatever he wants to do. Yeah Republicans how about we let him interpret the Geneva Convention... and let's just do away with habeas corpus while we're at it. Because I mean seriously, who wants rights? *smacks head*
Minum wage was raised here... wtf yeah let's raise minimun wage which will raise inflation, make things more expensive, and make less jobs. Smartttttt.

It is mostly the Democrats that are pushing to raise minimum wage. And it has been nearly exclusively the Democrats who have raised taxes.
Federal payroll taxes (What comes out of your pay each week) has lowered twice during the Bush years.
I usually vote for Republicans but I also agree with the idea that you should find out how each person stands on the issues.
During the nonbaseball season I'm at home much of the day. I get calls and door to door politicians all the time saying the vote for me and all your problems will go away thing.
Well I sometimes ask them four or five things like how do you feel about? and see what they say. If they refuse to tell me I won't vote for that person I don't care what party they are in.
No answer means no vote.

My grandparents and parents were all Democrats and such they were all union members. When I registered to vote I was a little more than 18, I was more like 20. Well anyhow I registered Republican.
My family looked at me a bit crosseyed but by that time the Democrats had endorced things like abortion and rights for samesex marriages. Having 2 childeren and a 3rd on the way it's horrifying to think that childeren are destroyed in the womb. Bob Casey was our Governor in the early 1990s. He was a democrat, who was pro life. In fact his son Bog Casey Jr just got elected to the senate he is also a pro life democrat. The national democratic party snubbed Casey and Zell Miller too for taking a pro life stance.
Rights to bear arms, Senators like Metzembaum, and Ted Kennedy are all about taking away your guns. That is kind of how our country got established if the citizens weren't armed that never would have happend.
Gay marriages. I wont go there right now but I don't support that. Your lifestyle is your business but marriages among gay partners makes a mockery of traditional marriages.
So when I got this job I had to join the union and the fact that I was 19 and unregistered to vote was a shot against me I gained a point by registering to vote but I p'd people off by not registering democratic. My father told me I should have registered dem and just vote independently from there.
I did what I did and I'm not sorry about it.
Now, are the republicans all wonderful? No, not by a longshot. But I think I have to agree people like Bill O'Rielly, Joe Scarbourough and Sean Hanity when they say that the Gop is more helpful for family related issues.
Otherwise there's 2 sets of currupt politicians and every 4 years we get a choice of which sets of crooks we want to do business with.

I agree for the most part the people are about the same in the way that neither party's politicions are fully on the straight and narrow. But I also feel that the Republicans have a better position on social issues so I usually vote for Republicans too.
