I can't believe the amount of school shootings there have been in the last decade. All my school years school was the 1 place you didn't have to worry. Yeah there's the occasional bully I suppose that hasn't changed but guns weren't part of the picture.
There's an Amash community in Lancaster PA that had a shooting situation on Monday. Last week there was an event in Colorado and there's been others.
I can't imagine my kids coming home-hopefully coming home- and saying 'guess what dad there was a shooting at school today.'
I just can't fathom it.

It is just sickening how scary things have become.
That was never imaginable when I was School age either.

When I was in school the worst things you worried about is that somebody might take something of yours when you're not looking.
And I use to get given this card that would say 'for the best way to keep a Polock busy read the other side of this card,'
It would say the same thing on the other side.

I worry about that I'm about to be a teacher Id hate to have anything happen and then have to explain it to the rest of the students. What would you even say?

these shootings arn't affecting me in any way shape or form, in fact, if I hadn't read about it in the newspaper, I wouldn't have even known! the thing is, it was a cuisidence. 2 shootings has got the whole contry afraid. if you only haer about bad news, you will think the world as all bad, which it isn't. it is for the most part good, there are a few trouble makers that get all the media attention.

The saying is the Squeaky wheel always gets the oil.
I'm glad that you are not made fearful because of this though.
