Since the other thread is locked, I'll post an interesting concern that appeared in the News Paper today.
A young women recently sued a Texas College to get them to remove their "Tolerance Policy" because it went against her religion to be tolerant of gay people.
She wants her right to be intolerant to tolerance.
Normally I'd try and cite my source, but Google News and I aren't seeing eye to eye.
Personally, I don't understand why people have to care in the first place. If people truly did sin, aren't people supposed to let God handle it, and not sin themselves to "fix" the problem. (This goes more along the line of hate crimes, where there was also an interesting story about).
I'm not religious, but from what I know, it's what I'd think people would expect. Obviously you aren't going to treat your friendly next door murderer like your friendly next door drug-lord.
It just seems to make more sense to let God handle things (this is strictly in religious matters that I don't affair in, but question how others do) like gay couples and adultlists. This issue is nearly out of date in America. Third-World countries . . . less so.

Sort of on the same non-tolerance page, and really on the insane whack-job page: media.spikedhumor.com/24864/insane_woman_on_fox_news.wmvI don't care who you are, that woman is twisted. She has no idea what she's talking about, and then she gets pwned at the end. People think Islamic radicals are bad... Christian radicals are no better.

Being a Catholic I would say that we do believe in redemption, forgiveness, and to a certain extent, as tmtd put it let God handle it.
The next thing is the school already had a "tolerance polacy" so that leaves her two choices, tolerate or find a different school. It's pretty whacked to demand a school adjust themselves to accommodate her. That's wrong. That would seem to me at least that it's not only a religious issue but someone partially hiding behind religious positions.
Most Christian churches do not condone homosexual life styles, but we are also taught that everyone is a sinner and we need to forgive and accept people for what they are.
There are laws and courts to deal with thiefs and ax murders incase my post suggests that ax murders can be tolerated.

I agree with Classic, if that woman has a problem with the school's polacy she should find a different school.
That's like going to a Catholic university and saying 'I'm an athiest why do we say prayers everyday here?' Well because it's St.Peter's University. There are plenty of secular schools if that offends someone.
If you know the schools polacy then you should not complain.

Thats similar to some immigrnats wanting the United States to change language polacy for them. Everybody for over 2 centuries had to learn English and now theres others saying that Americans have to become multilingual.
Granted Im all for learning and being able to speak more than a single language is a great thing but it should not be the nation changing polacy for the immigrant. So the university has its rules and procedures in place thats that.

They're pointing out that it's Atheist. Not athiest.
They know darn well what that means. And I agree with Phil, if you're offended by the conditions of a University like it being a Catholic School it would be wrong to be offended by the fact that they have Religious Holidays and observe Catholic traditions.

I misspelled a word, but I still think everyone understood what was intended there.

Yeah. Cut it with the 'Oh someone erred slightly in their post. Now let's crucify them' behaviour, you three. You and Bro_c and TMTD do that sort of thing too much, TC23.
