I find that the Gouverment are probably trying to make money however they can. They do this all the time. The best example is near where I live. On a dual carridgeway your allowed to go 40 miles per hour, not on this one so on two really tiny signs they have 30 on them. If they were that bovered they would have it bigger. Oh and there are speed cameras, needless to say I know a lot of people that have been caught and had points on there license. Here in England you cannot appeal but you can complain, well you can't but you do.

That's why traffic tickets and other violations are often plea bargained down to a lessor infraction. If it can be adjusted to just a fine and many times the courts are happy just to place a fee in place.

Good point. I've had speeding tickets turned into parking tickets. No points on my license, no traffic school, just pay a fine and it's not a moving violation.

That's plea bargains are hardly ever done in Canadian courts.
