I reckon the american immigration laws are a load of B/S but australian laws aren't much better. I reckon all nations should be a lot more tolerant towards immigrants. 'Equal rights for all' is the US catch cry, yet they are constantly discriminating against foreign immigrants. Why? And I agree with Mattis's comment about that 911 call thing. Stupid law. So, basically I reckon immigration policies are B/S and should be altered greatly.

Here in Canada laws for immigration are a little too liberal and therefore there's rif-raff from other countries that take refuge here.

Necronomicon Ex Mortis - raised from the depths of the crypt.
SlayerX, how do illegals get to Australia? And, why? Is Australia similar to the U.S. as far as freedom? I've never been there, so I don't know how it all works down there.

Illegals are hurting the federal pocket book. No taxes paid. No medical insurance - illegals getting free care on taxpayer dollars. Removing taxpayers by doing jobs cheaper.
It's a downward spiral.
I have a plan that will work. All I need is a seat in the Oval Office.
The plan is too lengthy to type out here, so I'll make something that's easier to digest - later.

Would you mind not bumping 18-month-old topics?

As long as it is bumped, does Australia have illegal immigration trouble? I mean I'm not great with geography but I think there are no boarders at least not for several hundred or even in excess of a thousand miles at a time.
I believe Australia is the World's smallest continent and biggest Island. Unless I have that wrong.
So that means illegals would have to sneak in by air or sea. I'm not saying that couldn't happen though.

It does happen. They come in by boat from wartorn countries, looking for a better life in a better country. Instead, they get picked up by the military and shipped off to detention centres, where they are left to live out the rest of their miserable lives.

A life sentience in a detention center? That seems pretty excessive for the crime.

Hmm, I don't mind bumping 18 month old post at all.
In fact, that's my new mission:
I will find the eldest post on this board and bump it to the top of the list. And I will link it into my signature.
Why? Because I haven't been here very long. I like to look into archives and revive old thoughts and stories.
Perhaps something new has come up since then (i.e. - "Did O.J. really do it?")

What constitutes "Old", by the way?
1 week? 1 month? 3 months? 1 year? 2 years?
When is that line drawn?
Perhaps I say, "A post that's more than 3 hours old is 'too old'." Unless it's about the lotto numbers, it ain't.
What constitutes 'Old' in people? What constitutes 'Old' in money? (someone born in '89 will think a '77 coin is 'old', but to someone born in '58 will think that was yesterday....someone born in '36 REALLY will think it was yesterday.....because of senility).
'06 was yesterday, too me.

A life sentence for illegal crossing? That's what the U.S. should be doing.
If not in 'real life', at least 'on camera' and leaking it to the south. If they 'think' that's what's going on, then it may be a deterrent.

More than a month old is 'old'.
Please don't do that.
Every time you bump a topic, God kills a panda. Think of the pandas!

I'll be more on the ball from here on out, SlayerX.
