Since I'm bringing back LSN and all, here we'll discuss things to change and make better about LSN! First thing that needs doing: I hate the whole 'krap page' and stuff and that complicated thing. I think we should just go back to the secwet link thing that we started with, because right now, I think it's almost impossible to get membership. EDIT: I also think that we should get rid of the 'chat' and 'review' pages since we already have a chat (although no one uses it) and reviews are dead at the moment. LSN should be like Hy Vee . . . Employee Owned!
Articals would be reviewed by the LSN community as a whole, and I guess you'd just need one guy to upload it to the site.

I agree with TMTD.
Here's an idea. . . we do LSN as a flash based thingy. Me, smashdood, and cubed all have flash, and it'd actually be really easy since it's all just reading material.

Well if you're on bro_c's good side than he can get you one.
Actully I think the Flash menus are very possible. I could easily code one, BUT, I don't know a few things.
1. The Action Script for opening web pages.
2. How to make the flash overlap the page (like those fake popup flashes)
3. How to tie it into a skin if we use one.
4. How to update it if we add/change pages.
I almost want to do a complete flash site with hardly any html. Everythign would be navigatable through flash files like H*R. The trouble is, that leaves you guys out.

Okay, sorry I didn't read this earlier; I just refound out that you need to put in the password for this board to find there are new posts there  Okay, now, I think that Bro_Cs Idea is GENIUS! It'd be a lot more organized, and it'd look a whole lot cooler ;D Now, to get Flash for free, PM skier and say 'I want flash for free'. And he'll give you the serial code to get a full version of flash. |

Yes, Flash would definatly beinifit us, and the readers.
Tripod is always freaking annyoing with ads, as popups flash up on the screen, and dissapear from popup blockers. This is very annoying alot, and if all reading material is stored into a flash file, you just need to navigate through that.
This will mean that the person who covers the writing area will need basic knowledge of flash.
I think that the ones who have flash will have different areas they work on in LSN. Say bro_c is the guy who manages the Writing flash file. All links to submit things would go to Kurt to be approved and formatted. Kurt would then send it to bro_c, who will put it into the flash file, and upload it into LSN.
This would deffinatly make the site better, but it may slow things down. Opinions?

Flash is a possibility, but what if we did something from cubed's idea (not the flash) and get a site, where every auther had a blog, and each blog was ontheir own page. This could be very interesting for the reader, being able to view through each individual author's archive. Like a blog you'd see on vgcats.com or www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/ except more than one. I'm not sure how you'd set this up, although, bro_c might know a blogging service where you can share an account (and I hope the same page). The flash idea does sound really good, now that I think about the scripting and such involved, it should like it wouldn't work and I'm not sure LSN couldn't go through a halt like that. |

Um. . . yeah. . . anyway, about the blog thing: Blogger allows multiple users to use one blog, but ALL posts are shown on the main page, instead of specifically chosen posts. I am currently looking @ LiveJournal since it claims that you can create your own community.
Okay, LJ sucks, pretty much. Really, right now, the best thing I'm seeing is if we all create Blogspot accounts, and create an LSN account to use as a main page. We could do the same thing with LJ, but Blogspot is better than LJ by far. |
