I have a long name and it is often mis said. I don't even bother to correct people. I have 13 letters
Ostrotkiewicz.
OSS trot KAYV itch is how it is properly said.
I am most often called OSS trok O wits That's as close as most people can get and that's close enough most of the time I answer to it.
Some people don't even read it. They just see a long polish name and call me Ostorowski, Ostrizinski, Ostrosnak and all kinds of other things.
I have long been known to my friends as Philly O, Phillo and O-man.
I don't even expect to get my name said right because it is long and there are silent letters. I suppose noone really cares but I thought I'd share that here anyway.

My name is philip and a lot of times people write it as phillip with 2 L's, it's kinda annoying. Also my last name is Rodning (It was originally "Roodninga" or somethig... Norwegian... or Swedish. I think norwegian, though) and a lot of the time people think it's rodney

It's not so much of a long name problem for me, but a wrong name problem. My name is Kevin, and my 12 year old brother is Keith. Our names are constantly mixed up. I don't know how many times I've been called keith by my family. I just play along with it now until they're like "Oh wait you're Kevin.... yeeeeeeah".

I have it made I guess. My name is six simple letters and nobody misspells or missays it.
I have played with lots of Rodriguez and Gonzalez along with some other hispanic names. Now we have a number of Korean and Japaneese guys.
There's a lot of Jesus (Hey-zues) but to us Americans they're often called Jesus for starters.
The phonice are just different. Julio is (Hoo-lio) Two Ls together are often silent. Bonilla is (Bo-nee-a).

I was lucky I had a simple name to start with and I married a guy with a simple name. I'm so lucky I don't have to spell my name for everyone over the phone and such.

My name is philip and a lot of times people write it as phillip with 2 L's, it's kinda annoying. I have had that too. It is kind of annoying. So your name is also Philip, such an easy name to spell and people mess it up. I kind of realize that my last name is hard to say and it's too much trouble to always correct other people so if they get it close I usually just leave it at that. But to mess you your name when it's fairly simple is just careless on other people's parts.

Some people have a pattern where the kids all have the same initials.
Like if the Millers had five kids they might be
Steven Michael Miller Scott Matthew Miller Sarah Martha Miller Susan Megan Miller Shawn Mark Miller
Then they all end up being SMM. I have known lots of people to choose a pattern. It's ok if that's your thing but I would not name a baby just to follow a pattern.
My brothers and I have completely different initials. Except for our last name of course.

There's no pattern to our naming either.
Jason as you all know is our oldest, his little brither is Eric. And my wife is due in late April or early may. We're thinking Raymond for a boy or Emily for a girl.

Two Ls together are often silent. Also to L's together can make a Y sound.

Some players have such a long name it starts at the sleeves and runs through elbo to elbo almost just to fit it all in.

Some people give their kids stupid names. David Bowie named his Son Zowie. Could you imagine going around as Zowie Bowie?
