www.justballgloves.com/products/detail_view.asp?i=1195Right here is a sample of what the best mits ever are made of. This is my first year trying this perticular glove and it's the best I've ever had. I probably own 100 gloves and God only knows how many I've given away but this is my favorite so far.

It's not made of Walter Payton? Hahaha, it should be for what it costs. Yes, Gizmoii has a good point it is rather pricy. But it is for everyday use and for professional use and it's a tool of the job so it has to be as perfect as possible. There's a comfort factor, not only for having it on periodically for three hours a day, but for how to protect your hand against the ball, protect your wrist against a ball coming very fast, and to stay on your hand when dealing with normal perspiration. That means a lot and it's a bigger issue in a league game than it is when you're buying a glove for pick up baseball.

Man, 240 for a glove? That was my reaction too even though I can understand Classic's explanation.

Man, 240 for a glove? I just shelled out $140 for a book thats probably not even 200 pages long. Tools of the trade mang, tools of the trade.

I feel you Spartan....I had to shell out about 250 big ones for the Information Technology packet. We don't even use half the material.

Luckily I already had the books I needed for my other two classes. Book prices are rediculous. At least you'll get some use out of the glove Classic.

I agree though. When it's your livelyhood you need to have the best advantage you can get.

Stalin and Phil are right on the money. It's like my toolbox.
The glove to me is just as inportant as a dumptruck or a radial alarm saw would be to my brothers in the construction business.
A best of 5 championship series could come down to a last game or an extra inning game. If I can get the jump on the ball and get the guy out that might even determine whether or not I have a job next year. In light of that $240 isn't as much anymore. Yes it still a lot of money for a glove I understand.
Bats and gloves I couldn't run out of before my dying day. I have millions of bats and thousands of gloves (exaggeration for emphasis, obviously.)
Still it's important to Swap things around every now and then.
This perticular glove is on the small side. I perfer it because although I have had longer gloves, sometimes it hits the fingers of a longer glove and you think you have the ball and you don't. The shorter fingered glove gives you a little better handle on if you actually have control of the ball. And you have an average of about 2 to 3 seconds to get the throw to first. So a shorter fingered glove lets you get the ball out a bit faster.

;D ;D ;D He made an error with it in yesterday pre-season game, "a poor Craftsman blames his tools." (My Dad's line) Hey Hey I did not MAKE an error! That ball was for all practical purposes out of my reach! I probably jumped four feet high with my arm reached up as high as possible and yes the ball did skim off my glove but that should have not been an error it was an honest base hit.

Suure... Anyway, how'd you know bout disco rice? Hehe... Oh and BTW, I just remembered: whenever we play baseball, I ALWAYS play third base... *highfive* High five fellow 3rdbaseman. And disco rice is a term I have heard before I can't remember where originally but I am familiar with it. And even Stephen Hawkin doesn't believe me about the error so maybe I just didn't come up with the ball when I should have.
