PRO WRESTLING

I don't know if Pro Wrestling is a Sport per se or a form of entertainment.

They are doing athletic stuff whether they are actually hitting eachother or not.

Anyway I liked it a lot at one time. My Dad has always been a sports fanatic and he had three of us before he got a Son so we all kind of grew up watching sports.

In the era of Hulk Hogan, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Roddy Piper, Brutus Beefcake and Randay Savage wrestling was entertaining and thrilling with the stunts and the gimmicks. Eventually the attempts to entertain have just become vulgar.

I am something that was once light hearted has become so unfamily oriented.

The other day at my Parent's house my Brother (Dannyboy) was watching Monday Night Raw that was my first exposure to wrestling in a few months and I was reminded why I don't watch it anymore.

It's a shame though. It use to be funny and even impressive with some of the stunts that are performed.

I've never watched wrestling, but I do know it is only for show and that the wrestlers are acting athletes.

Why exactly is this in sports? It might be more fitting in "Entertainment," and even then calling two men in speedos grappling each other 'Entertainment' is a stretch. I would go so far as to say that it is essentially a soap opera for men who are insecure in their sexuality, though someone might throw a few punches at me if I elaborated.

I still think it qualifies as a sport even though I more or less agree with Trotsky's post.

They have to be conditioned athletes to perform the stunts that are performed so I call it a sport.

I watched it during the Hulk Hogan years.

I like sports that are more serious not that grunt and grumble stuff.

I wanted to go to wrestlmania but I wont be able to.
