Blastgirl, Phil, and Classic all know me well from another forum. I come from a discussion board called farts.com. I have been around that forum for years, but finally joined about a year ago. But now I am having some problems. A member has appeared on there that has really turned the board into a place thats far less fun. This member takes swipes at good standing members in order to garner a reaction, and since not everyone has the ability to ignore these things, they give him what he wants so he can then cry foul like a little terrier who has been annoying the mailman but's now been kicked in retaliation. He blatantly supports and encourages any undesirable new members, telling them to continue rebelling against the rules of the forum. The problem here is that this member is somehow able to keep himself from being offensive enough to warrant a good and thorough banning. He stays in line JUST barely enough to stay on there. He has made farts.com far less fun for me. I am considering leaving the forum for a while, or possibly for good. I have not reached this decision yet, but the longer I see him take swipes at my friends, the more pissed off I get and the less I want to be there. I am asking what I should do here. Should I take a break and wait for him to leave or finally get banned, should I stop going there for good, or should I try and keep doing what I have been and try and participate as normal, even though I no longer have any fun there. Im unsure of what to do.  |

I'm sure that he will push the button that would cause Baron of Brappps to toss him off.
He has been kind of a jerk and like you said he seems to back off just on time to avoid being kicked out.
Leaving is the worst thing you can do that's giving in to him. That would also make it appear as though good Members you are friends with don't have your support.
I don't think he will last much longer Baron of Brappps has already said he has had about enough warnings. I would sidestep that person and say something praiseworthy to the Good Members and try not to give him the satisfaction.
Moderators make it known when someone new posts a unwanted thread so his input has little importance on the rest of the board.

He's a jackass and for the most part a pimple on the butt.
I wouldn't leave or even give him stupid satisfaction.
He's close to being hacked anyway.

Don't worry about him cos sooner or later he will be banned, he can't keep going forever, can he. Even the Exploder left eventually.

The member was FINALLY banned, but I have no doubt in my mind he is already back under a different name. Im sure our Mods will nail him. I hope...

He's back. *sigh*. I had one of the moderators who knows how to get into the actual guts of the system the forum runs on check and see if its him and its Mule using the same email address on a different PC. However he hasnt banned him again yet.  |

If that board is as well moderated as my sisters say it is then have a little faith in the moderators I'm sure they will take care of that matter.
Meanwhile post what you need to post, play football and go fishing as often as possible.

Whenever that happens thsoe guys are easy to find because they have the exact same attitude, act combative at the exact same posts, and make not much of an effort to act different enough to consider that it might really be somebody else.
No doubt there were situations when we thought somebody was a same person and it wasn't. I'm sure that usually moderators are right.
What I can't see is a forum is established threads are set to have a pattern and untasteful meterial is removed and whoever posted it is made aware that excessive swearing and vulgar references are not appreciated, yet they post it anyway and get mad at the moderators rather than try to comply with the patterns of the forum.
Then some other guy comes up and says how rude the moderators were to insult this person because this is free speach.
Well, free speach? Ok, if this was a thread about movies and you wish to say you prefer to read a book, that's fine, that's not that a person posts a link to a porn movie and says 'hey, we're talking about movies and that's my favorite movie.'
At that stage they have stepped out of the boundries of what's acceptable.
