Ok, so it's a little late in the season, but oh well.
There were some upsets this week. #3 Louisville, #4 Texas, #5 Auburn, and #8 Cal all lost, the latter three all losing to unranked teams. The National Championship race is looking interesting. Well, actually the race to be #2 is looking interesting.
My Buckeyes won big today, making this coming Saturday one of the biggest college football games. Ever. OSU and the state up North have never faced each other as #1 and #2. This game is for the National Championship. Why? Both teams are head and shoulders above the rest of college football. OSU will win though, as they have so many threats. That and it's here in Columbus. It's sure to be one of the loudest games I'm ever going to be at. College Gameday is surely going to be here, so watch for me on TV.
So, assuming OSU wins (which they will), who will they play in the championship game? It's a tough decision. I was liking the possibility of a OSU-Texas rematch, but that won't happen since Texas lost tonight. I think Florida or USC would make for a good game. However, Florida has to worry about Arkansas in the SEC title game and USC still hace 2 tough games ahead of them, assuming they beat Oregon tonight.
Who do I not want to see OSU play? Anyone from the Big East. Why? I don't think they could hang at all. WVU, Louisville, and Rutgers all don't play very good defense, and Tory Smith and company would have a field day racking up points. That and They haven't faced the #1 scoring defense in the country.
Honestly, I'd like to see an OSU-TSUN rematch. Would many people like it? No. Are they the two best teams in the country? Undoubtedly.
Discuss.

Then that's the game to see.
You get that all the time from sports critics that have their "favorites" but I'm with you. It's more fun to see the best teams square off not some upsets that by some fluke placed a lower seed team in the running.
Granted when you're a fan or a player you don't much care how your team arrived in the final rounds as long as it does. But when you have the best of both worlds being a top seed team and in the finals then you can legitimize the championships the most.
It ends up being the two best squaring off. But you always need to look out for the scenario that best matches with your team after everything is said and done.

Now you have to maintain it. Congratulations though. But when you go to glory in your rookie season the bar is higher for expectations form there on.

Michigan Wolverines just scored at the start of the 4th qtr.
Ohio State Buckeyes lead 35-30 Hold it. theres a penalty flag so theyre going to have to do it over. Its back to 35-24 Ohio State.
They got it anyway this will stand the same guy has 3 td Mike Hart has today. So its going to end up 35-31 when Ohio State gets the ball back.

225 to go in the 4th and Mich gets an interception. Inside the Ohio 15 and the TD is thrown to make it I guess 42-38 once the point is kicked they will try for 2 to get within a fieldgoal.
and they are doing ot right now and they got it so its 42-39 just before the 2 min warning.

No matter who you are for it was a good game and it should not surprise anyone why those were the top two ranked teams.

Ohio State and TSUN will play each other in Glendale. They are no doubt the best two teams in the nation. I will give them credit, TSUN is a very good team. They and OSU could take any other college out there.

Yes I live in Ohio. Columbus, a.k.a. Buckeye City. My actual home is in Marion, if you have any clue where that is then congrats.
So it's gonna be OSU vs. Florida. In my opinion, OSU will roll them like the morning paper. SEC comes from the "oh so tough" SEC. Yawn. Not like OSU wouldn't run the table there or anything. Or Michigan for that matter. I think OSU will just be too much for Florida to handle. Too much speed, too much depth, too much everything. Right now the spread in Vegas is OSU by 8, and I think that the spread will be easily covered. Any team that's leading rusher is their second string QB is bound to have some trouble coming.
In other news, the Heisman Trophy will be awarded on Saturday. The winner will be Troy Smith. Sure, he may not have the passing stats of Colt Brennan and some scouts think he won't get a high draft pick (though I can't really see why), but he is the most talented player out there. He's out there calling the shots and leading his team through a wire-to-wire #1 season. He's 25-2 as a starter and is 3-0 against Michigan. All year long, the Heisman has been his to lose. And he hasn't. If he leads OSU over Florida in January, he will go down as arguably the greatest QB in OSU's history. No other QB from OSU has been able to make plays out of nothing like he has. He avoids pressure like it's his job. Actually, it is.
