Is anyone watching it this year? I always end up watching the three triple crown races just to see if anyone will win all three again. Smarty Jones was close a couple years ago, but there asn't been a triple crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. I'm pulling for Sinister Minister to win, mainly because his odds are decent, he has an inside position, and he has an awesome name.
One of these days I'm going to go to the Derby, if only for the atmosphere... mint juleps, Derby Pie, and beautiful women done up in their best. Yessir.
EDIT: Well, Barbaro won it. It doesn't really come as a suprise. He was the post-time favorite at 5-1 odds and had a postion close to the middle with 8. He really came strong at the final turned and then lit it up on the final stretch. he won by 7 lengths which is pretty nice. I'm hoping it wins the triple crown... and it is 6-0 in races now so who knows.

I like the antiquity of it. The Horse being the original vehicle. The Kentucky Derby is in a way the original Indy Five-Hundred. ;D

Original Indy. That's pretty good never thought of it like that. The horses have more creative names though.

But then again horseracing doesn't have Danica Patrick.

But then again horseracing doesn't have Danica Patrick. Very true.
