Some storys are really freaky. Some I hope I don't experience. I believe at least some of what I have heard though I still say that not everybody who has a story is imaginative, delusional, or a liar so I think some truth has taken place. There are some that are unexplained but not necessarily unexplainable too.
Just as some people may have encountered aliens there's the weather balloon explanation too.
A guy could turn on headlights to find something in the drive way creating a strange glimmer of light that has seemingly no explanation. Jason1969 is also onto something with the mind can make things real to the beholder too.
That doesn't mean I am any less believing of the mentioned stories than I was before.

Yes the one you shared on Farts.com and I think here as well does sound very creepy Blastgirl, And I could tell you were really creeped out from the way you glared at the man who mentioned the line about you meeting the uninvited resident.
Not that Ive ever thought of you as unassertive from reading your post and interacting with you on these board's, Well just from what you can get a feel of someone's personality from their post you know, But you never struck me as someone who glares at anyone unless your very dead seriously upset, So I'm just guessing of course that even having someone joke around about that must have really got to you.

I know there's sometimes a shine if lighe and it could be a neighbor who doesn't usually leave their house at 3 am but they did that time lives behind you and they backed out of the driveway with the headlights on and that unusual time the car was on the opposite side of the driveway from where its usually parked and the drapes in the bathroom were not fully closed so the headlights caught the bathroom mirror and reflected a slight moving image of light on the wall across the hall way. That could be a ghost. Or at least believed to be. Some fast moving light could have caused the dog to start a barking rage too.
And perhaps it was a ghost. The situation is not always possible to duplicate though.

It all has to do with the pineal gland (as far as the supernatural go) whereas yes, extra terrestrial beings DO exist, just are not often seen.
The pineal gland is a small pea-sized pine-cone shaped nerve burrowed between the 2 rear lobes of the brain, about 2 cm from the basin of the spinal column (cerebral cortex ?? don't remember been a LONG time since I cracked the book)
Anyways it's a sensory gland in disguise, producing melatonin which makes us fall asleep. Wondrous little enzyme, but anyways. . .
The pineal is the sensory organ of sensory organs, it is what alerts us to the unknown, IE when you catch a glimpse of something moving and look only to see nothing, WELL you did in fact see something, it's just that time in OUR plain of existence and "their" plain differ greatly and move at very different rates. With the proper stimulus the pineal will increase the senses 100 fold, allowing a human to see what cats chase when they are running after nothing, to hear and smell what dogs bark at in the middle of the night.
It is also believed to be the link in communication with the "other side". Research on the gland (for this purpose) stopped in the early 1920's as the doctor had died of atrophy under the influence of his machine.

There was a known ghost in an apartment I had. Some other residents of the building said that they had seen a few other spirits too. I only saw the one guy but I saw him kind of a lot. But I was only in that apartment for a year and I didn't stay there during the off season and I'm away a lot and that guy being there didn't freak me out for some reason.

I do believe in ghosts. I honestly believed that there was a ghost in the house my parents and I lived in before we moved to the house we currently live in, because I would hear footsteps in the basement at night after both of my parents were in bed asleep.
Then back the summer before my senior year I was awakened in the middle of the night out of a deep sleep (I'm a very heavy sleeper and don't wake up in the middle of the night for anything) and I saw a figure standing at the end of my bed. At first I thought it might have been a bit of light from a streetlight shining through the blinds or something. I couldn't take my eyes off it, and as I kept looking at it, I reached for the TV remote, thinking that when I turned on the TV, I would discover that it was just a shadow of something in my room. I turned on the TV, but the figure was still standing there, and about 5 seconds after turning on the TV, the figure faded away. Of course I was freaked out, and I kept the TV and lights on in my room the rest of that night. It still creeps me out to this day.

That would freak me out. I've had some weird things happen but an image near my bed when I'm sleeping would be creepy.

I don't like to discuss this so late at night but I know what you mean. The image usually stays just long enough so you know you are not asleep and you are not imagining it and then it tends to vanish or fade slowly until it's disappeared.

I believed the school was haunted because nothing ever happens at home. I've also read about seeing ghosts, you'd likely see them out the corner of your eye. My mom also believes in them, and says she had a weird experience, or a friend of her did back years ago. It involved a ouija board and a window being opened that was closed, and a loud noise. Ouija boards are forbidden in our house. I've used one before and nothing bad happened, but it does actually read words to you.

My mom doesn't allow them in the house, either. Honestly I would never want to use one, though.
