Edited 'cause I didn't see the poll feature before posting, so here it goes again.
So, do you think the paranormal world exists, or can it be explained naturally?
I'll tell you a story of things I experienced while in tech school, living there with a roommate.
It's reputed to be haunted, said to be an asylum at one point, but also veterans hospital and even said to have been a childrens hospital, but others said it was always what it is today. Cover up at all? Well, anyway...we noticed the following:
Radio turned on loudly in the middle of the night, nobody's hand near the remote and neither of us sleepwalked.
Door coming open when the hall was empty and only us and office staff had the keys.
Sounds coming from room next door when it was empty.
A feeling of not being alone.
In another room, I was even woken up by something, I felt it, but nobody was there, and the roommate was in the bathroom.
Weird ain't it?
Personally I have always been interested by these things, but can't say for sure that it's 100% true, I've never seen anything yet. Still, I'm thinking towards a Yes on this one.

Athiest hand rising here, but I'm still not sure. As for your stories.....it was me. I turned your radio up. I forgot that it was on high, before putting in Pink Floyd, sorry. I also snuck into your room, trying to sneak a Coke from the fridge....... Where did you go, again? I may have had the wrong campus, but I told them that I knew Demona and they let me right in.

YES they're spooky Oh My Goodness.
If I get too into this at this hour I might have trouble sleeping.
Here goes. When I first met Classic he had a small apartment on the third floor of what was once a large house but had been broken into about six small apartments.
Well anyway I was over there one time and a guy walked right through the living room. I shrieked and made Classic tale me home.
He knew what I had seen because even though he did not see it that time he had seen him before. I wouldn't go in there for a long time. One of his neighbors said "you met our resident, huh?" I glared at him and said nothing. That was freaky.
We saw him again as Classic moved out of there after a baseball season to go home (before we were Married he would go to his Family's place for the off season.
The image showed up briefly that time too.

Well, that'd freak anyone out but mostly they're harmless so it's nothing to worry about. Now if the place had been built on a burial ground, that's cause for concern.

I want to meet a ghost.
Can I get rent this residense? I'd see the ghost and sit him down for a one-on=one over beers.
As long as he didn't say, "Brraaaiiins" I think everything would be cool.

My uncle once said that he saw his wife sitting on the couch when he went to the potty at 2am. He asked her what she was doing awake at that hour and she said, "Just hanging out".
He climbed into bed and his wife (my aunt) was in bed, already.
He ran out to the living room and nothing was there.
2am. Dream? or Reality? Did he potty in his bed?
I have......

I must ask, what would happen if he said "Brraaaiins?" You brought it up you know?
I might have turned my panties into a fudge factory.
Yeah I hope I don't ever see or experience anything like that again.

If he said, "Brraainns"?
I'd say, "you're lookin at the wrong fella,,,,,,fella...see, too many 'fella's' in there."
That should be enough to convince him!!
***
If he were spectral and you offered him a seat and pulled it out from under him....since he's not really 'there', but only using the chair as a reference, would he still fall to the ground?
Since we can't punch ghosts. Can they punch us? After all, they can change our TV channels and/or radio stations. Make plates fly and crash. How do they learn to transcend the realms, but we can't?
Are ghosts afraid of other ghosts? (Like, older ones...)
Do they see us in 2007 versions? or their own timeline?
Are we 'ghosts' to them?
I have a lot of wierd questions about this type of stuff (and most of it IS serious curiosity)
Let's say a ghostly Pirate ship encountered a modern day nuclear aircraft carrier. Is that carrier an amazing wonder of science/witch craft, or just another wooden ship on the high sea?

The elevator that's inside our famous building here on campus is supposed to be haunted. The building is a mansion that was constructed in the late 1920's and it's been designated a national historic landmark. The elevator has been known to operate all by itself, taking passengers or a single rider where IT wants to go. This happened to me yesterday. I was killing time before I had to see the doctor about a back injury I'm currently dealing with. I decided to go walk around in our historic building for a while. I went over to the elevator to use it. I pressed the call buton several times, but the old elevator didnt move down to my floor. I went up the stairs and found it on the second floor. I got in, and pressed the button for the basement. However, instead of heading there, the elevator slammed closed and shot me UP to the third floor. Now, I'm standing there like this: I reach out to press the button for the first floor, but before I could even touch it the doors closed and took me straight up again to the fourth floor. At this point I said is there anyone here with me? The instant I finished saying that, the doors closed again and took me on a long ride down to the first floor. No buttons pressed. As soon as the gate opened I was out. I'd seen enough. Supposedly there was a small fire in the building during the 1980's. Since there was a lot of smoke around, a firefighter opened the elevator door thinking it was there. Well, it wasn't. He fell down the elevator shaft and died at the bottom. The elevator and the shaft are supposed to be haunted by his ghost.

I've never experienced ghosts exactly but I have had some pretty weird things happen.
And some people I trust greatly have had some stories that I believe even though I was not there.
There's too many paranormal stories out there for me to believe that everybody who claims their experience is a quack or a liar. So I believe.

Don't freak Blastgirl out with this post.
Classic is away for the next couple days and if this freaks her out I'll have to stay at their house or she won't be able to sleep.
So that makes them real enough for me.

I think ghosts are completely bogus.
Of course, because I've said this, Jack the Ripper will probably rise from the dead tonight and chainsaw my head off. *hides*

Undecided for absolute sure here Several people in my family and who I know that I consider not the type to make up story's about such thing's have told me about seeing a person's spirit after they departed, Including my mom who related that my grandmother saw her mother in her bedroom after she had passed,She came in and was looking at some doll's my grandmother made and complimented her on how beautiful they were. As to are they to be feared,In the case they do exist? Well, I tend to lean toward they are like living people in that way, Some are nice and caring while other's are more sinister and maybe there's some that aren't particularly nice but really don't want to do serious harm to anybody, maybe Some insist if they exist it's impossible for a body-less spirit to hurt a person living in the existence we know, I'm not so sure about that though, Maybe energy without a body, but that has a will can in some cases use it's sheer mentality and/or desire so to speak, to manipulate matter Having said that I'm going on to say that I also believe the human mind can make thing's seem so starkly real, and that input I don't mean in any way to seem patronizing to anyone who has had an encounter,In fact I think in the case that some encounters might possibly be creation's of a person's mind that it can be every bit as interesting :)I don't have any particular person or people's claim/claim's in mind when I bring in the possibility that the mind can create encounters just to let you know by the way The human mind is an amazing thing, And I'm not sure we as humans know even a fraction of what it can do, Like I said undecided for sure, But I guess I'm leaning closer to yes than no.

Like I said Blastgirl, I wasn't singling any person or person's story out when I talked about the human mind, Basically I was just saying that of all the report's, (not here specifically) but in the world in general I would guess it's possible some could have been creation's of the mind,In other word's I don't automatically rule that possibility out in every case,I have no way of knowing, so I personally won't say that every case is not of that nature. Basically I wonder if of all the cases reported worldwide if some are genuine other's the human mind's power and still other's just made up story's,I thought I was clear? If not I hope I am now? That I wasn't pointing finger's?,Or assuming any particular encounter wasn't really what it seemed? and I was talking in the most general way about all encounters and claims of encounters?
