My suggestion for the boards is a moderated debate section. It works very simply, if you have anything you want to debate about you post it in this section. You give it a topic and create a list. (you may allow as little or as much as you want) Create two teams and set a deadline. Each team member then has until the deadline to post their argument. Once all the team members have posted or the deadline is reached the member who has created the debate posts a new poll for all the people who didn't join a team. They vote on the teams to see who wins.
sticky ideas: hall of fame, list of all the teams and their members who have won a debate. debate ideas: a list of pretty generic debates or where members can post ideas of debates they want to see but not to participate in.
Obviously I would like to be a mod of it since I understand how it will work, but I also have experiance with proboards and being a mod from my own boards and experience on other boards.

That sounds like it would work on the politics boards, without the creation of a new sub-forum.
Actually, most of the discussions there used to be like that, before everyone left.

I actually agree with skier0. The political board seems to be the hot bed for that type of stuff. There's no contests, nor winners (except me) there, but It's basically the same thing.
In other scenerios...skiers is a gently caressing rear end in a top hat. (Yes, I saw your 'mad skillz' in Mod Wars. Ya'basta'd.) Yeah.....thanks for answering a question, over there, by the way, skier.
How you doing, otherwise, master? It's Friday!!! w00t! woot. W0ot. "I got Jimmies.." lol.

A debate board wold be a good idea because I've been seeing these things in Polls for some reason. Where it goes I guess, is where it goes.
