How about a 'Writer's Corner'?

I'd like to have a 'Writer's Corner' where serious writers (books, screen, stage, etc..) could get together and chat, bounce ideas off each other and generally exchange ideas about certain thoughts, scenes, summarys, challenges, etc.

I know we have a board for 'Entertainment: Talk about TV, Movies, etc., but those aren't about T.V., movies, ETC, that we made.

I see we have boards for "Constructors" and for "Programming". I'd like one for the craft of the written word.

I know we have a few 'closet writers' here (most of us wouldn't be here if we weren't), and I'd like to have a specific area, outside of 'General Board' to help us express our thoughts, experiences, successes and failures.

I'd also like to be the sole Mod of that forum.
I'm a pro, and I only want pros to participate.

I will bring the 'Iron Fist' down on anyone who's negative and unwilling to understand the craft.

((Besides: When I AM president, you can say, 'I knew that guy when he was asking for his own 'Writer's Corner'.....
At the least, you can say, "I knew that guy before his name showed up on this awesome movie",,,,,or, "I gave him that idea!! I'm going to sue his a**!!"))

Sounds good. I'm on another board (polykarbonbbs.com) for art and they have a section for writers. It is a little on the slow side, with the given post length usually over a hundred words but it is one of the most consistent and productive boards. We use it for roleplaying games and poetry as well as fanfic stuff.

A sole mod is a good idea, it will not need much moderation and too many mods may debate.

I've written quite a few short stories myself. I'd post in that board, if it existed.

True. Plus, I don't want someone who's being an attacker becoming a Mod, himself, and challenging me.

I would try to promote 'shorter' posts.
Don't post your entire 120 page spec - just a few lines of summary or a single scene or two at a time.

A typical post would go like this:

Title: "Opening Ideas?"

"Ok, guys. I have an idea for a spec script, but I'm lagging on the beginning.
I've got (characters) doing (stuff), but what should I go with before that in Act I?"

Can a Topic or two the ART section suffice or does it need to be a new section. I could create one if need be.

Why don't we start with a topic or so in the ART section and if it needs more I can start a board within the CREATIVE STUFF heading for Writings.

I've 'kinda' perused the Art section.

The drawn art and the Written art are two different things.

It takes great forethought to complete a masterpiece of a picture.
It's a different great forethought to complete a 2 hour long feature film, stage play and/or short film that has a good resolution.
They are both art, but it's like comparing an automotive technician with a heavy-duty technician - they both do, pretty much, the same thing, but it's completely different.
...Like comparing a Presbyterian with a Jew.
...Like comparing a stab wound with a gunshot wound.
...Like comparing Blastgirl's avatar with Kimm's avatar.
...Like comparing Kung-Fu with Judo.
...Like comparing Pepsi and Coke.
...Like comparing 'Intercessor: A Rock n' Roll Nightmare' with 'Intercessor 2: Another Rock n' Roll Nighmare'.......NO! That's a bad example! Those both suck!!!

Perhaps we could get a sub- board within 'Art', like the Jokes and Riddles in the the General boards? (where the said sections are above and separated from the rest.)

Can I be a sole mod in a sub? (Lil Zombie also just asked to join in as a mod....so just a 'co-sole-mod'? I trust her....and I know where she lives. )

I'm not a "serious" writer though. I have only done fanfic, and it was all for fun, and that was a couple years ago when I was into that.

I've written a few screen-plays and I would enjoy posting them in a writer's section.
