This was my take on vehicle inspections. I think its safer to have them.
Does your state have inspections and how do you feel?
Sure some things are unnecessary like emissions things, technicalities that are probably bogus but the process and what usually needs to be checked mandated by most states that have inspections I think are good things to check.
I also recently learned that 31 of the 50 states have either discontinued inspections or never had them.
Some say that its only a money grab by the states. Which it is to a degree but I think accidents are prevented by inspection.

Michigan has never had them.... ....what good are brakes when you're driving on ice 50% of the time? I believe it's a money grab - plain and simple. Also: Did you know that, a Commercial Vehicle (semis, straight trucks, etc) get fined 4 times higher than personal vehicles for the offenses? The State's excuse; "You are trained to a higher level and you should know better." While true.....WHY 4x? Personal seat belt ticket: $45 Commercial seat belt ticket: $200 Personal speeding ticket: $110 Commercial speeding ticket: $400 Personal 'Frost Law' ticket: Doesn't exist. Commercial 'Frost Law' ticket: $1,000.

That part is a money grab if they're doing that. A fine should be the same for everybody.
I also think that its a money grab when some states have a scanner that goes into the obd2 and reads if the monitors are not reset properly and if they're not it has to complete drive cycles. That's a money grab that shops have to use that equipment and go through that process. And people have to pay for that.
Tierods, ball joints, tires, brakes, brake lines, frame rot those are all good things to monitor though.

OBD2 reminds me of a funny story.
A teenage kid and his mother shows up at our shop with the 'Check Engine' light on.
The mom recently had surgery, and wasn't able to drive, so her 16 year old boy had complete access to the car.
Well, one day, as he was driving to school, the 'Check Engine' light came on.
It was on for a week before the mom rode with him to do, whatever (groceries, probably), and they brought the car to our shop.
I plug it in and read the code.
I ask the kid, "What were you doing when the light came on?"
He say, "I was just driving to school and it popped on.
I show the kid and mom the screen.
"Says here you were doing 105MPH when the light went on."
He hit the rev limiter.
His mum hit her rev limiter.
Turns out, innocent little 'Timmie' was racing his buddy down US31 - foot to the floor - in mummie's car.
OBD2 and Mode 6 are great advances.
Like the woman who kept bringing her car back to the garage (were talking early 70s) with her car bogging down and lacking power.
Everytime the mechanics drove it they could peel rubber for miles and it ran fine.
Finally, one of the mechanics asked her to drive him around.
...she gets in. .....pulls out the choke handle. .......hangs her purse on it. ..........drives around for half an hour before the mechanic stops her.

I actually get the choke story.
I think the Mom would choke Little Timmy in story one there.
My Dad and Dannyboy have a lot of stories too. My Dad tells about the guy who had drivablity trouble but never when he was alone only when there were passengers. My Dad drove his car all over and no problem.
Once he had the guy drive the guy was such a bad driver my Dad stamped his feet several times (imaginary Break pedal) and that caused the miss. It turns out that the wiring to the vehicle's computer ran under the carpet through that area of the car and the Computer was under the Glove Compartment. The act of the imaginary brake stretched the wires to make the connection bad enough to cause the car to miss.

Ah, yes.
Chevy S-10 Blazer?
I also know the 'imaginary brake pedal' from riding along with my ex-wife....
That's how the passenger floor in her Mazda came to be! That's why I drive at all possible times (with anyone), now.

I think it was a Cavalier but I'm not sure.
The reason I think it was is my Sister (Tammy not Kim) had a Cavalier and once my Dad said "I'll show you something" and pushed on the carpet and it misfired. But maybe that's a number of Models that can be done with.

Guess it depends.
I've heard tale of a car that would die out, turning around a right corner, only on Sundays.
Turns out, the guy's mother-in-law would ride with him/them to church on Sundays and she was a "big woman".
The computer (ECU) is located under the passenger seat (where she always sat) and crushed the ECU when the guy would turn left.....

That's funny.
It depends on the car and where the controls are located then.

Everything depends upon something but I like the idea of a yearly inspection I think its safer that way.

I am disappointed that a nice girl on YouTube got her account suspended and possibly deleted for something I think is meaningless.
1400 uploads all gone. I think if the YouTube group has concern they could tell you to remove a blog and if you don't do it in 48 hours remove it for you not the whole account.

My last 5 videos were flagged for music (even in the background - from the TV playing!!)
I immediately removed mine as, seems, they were flagged as soon as I uploaded them - hence my upload of my "mundane semi ride'. (I'm still wondering if I gained an invisible enemy after my "Prince Barry" video who keeps flagging my videos.)
95% of all YouTube videos are clips from movies or music videos.
I'm surprised that they didn't suspend your account for having PA landmarks in your video....
...aren't those 'Copyrighted'? Someone owns that land!

It does seem a bit uncertain what they will or not allow. I can't believe these music videos are licensed I could probably just put up a movie from my dvd player on my channel and unless someone complains there could be hundreds of views.
Blastgirl favorited a video on my channel because our older son is really liked the goldfish in the video. There are 3 uploads from the girl who has the fish. One of them had been removed because the it was flagged because of the background song. The girl had to reboot the video with different background music or none I don't really know. Blastgirl can tell you though.
So that was an innocent video of a fish in a tank. How does that hurt anybody?

I'm uploading a blog from my laptop right now. I'm also eating a turkey sub and in about as long as it takes for break to be over I'll be switching ballasts in a hallway. Should be done around 5am. Then they'll give us chicken spit work to bring us to 7am.
