Nice vids Phil. Nostradamus and Chuck Norris right within our own Lewasite community. How can we be so lucky?

How does that have anything to do with Thunderbird wishes to challenge Phil?

So...what's the deal? Did Phil drive the rig, or what?
I first heard of this on farts, but kinda forgot about it.

No I haven't yet.
Thunderbird sent me a private message a few days ago and I replied but he has not logged in yet. I want to do it for the fun of this forum. Its only about 125 miles from where I am I'll take my chances that far on an old truck.
I can take a day off just about any time in the next 2 or 3 weeks it has to be in daylight through.

There it is. It's still in the fleet. 35 years old now. The old ticker works pretty well. I happened to drive it today that made me think of this discussion. I dont' often drive the old trucks in the company anymore. But I happened to today. I'd still like to have Phil take this trip if he can I think it's about 100 miles total.

I said I'll do it. I just don't know how soon I can.
That old truck doesn't look all that bad to me.

Like said, check all the basics because it's the little stuff that'll get ya.
Plus, 100 miles isn't really that much, if you think about it. I put on at least twice that much, daily (of course, in an '06 Volvo tractor but, still...)
Just don't keep it ramped up to 70 the whole time. A vehicle's best performance/longevity/fuel mileage is between 45-55mph.
...oh, who's buying the fuel, by the way?
OOOHHHH!!!!! We'll make it a Lewa-group effort!!
Phil gets a Paypal account. Everyone here sends him a buck or two for gas via said Paypal. Phil takes pics of his adventure (with a home made "Lewasite" sign on both doors [taped, glued, whatever..]) Everyone enjoys. fartingurl makes the sandwiches.
Hmm, now that I think about it.....with gas as expensive as it is, we need more members, first. Cuz, with the current collective, we might be able to round up about a gallon and a half.
Or, if we can get 'non-member' friends in on it.... Yeah! Everyone get all your friends to give you a dollar and donate those dollars to Phil.
Spread the word. Spread the fun. Share the joy.
How many miles, in total? and what's the fuel mileage on the beast?
***
If I could get 65,000 people to send me $1, I could pay off my house, today.
Hmmm, the gears are creaking.

You don't sleep much do you Mahnarch?
I think Thunderbird said that has a 390 engine if I remember. That probably gets about 6 or 7 miles to a gallon. I mentioned this possible trip to my father he said that he thinks that's all it got for mileage when it was new. Come to think of it some of the utility beds and bucket trucks are gasoline powered and they don't get good mileage either. I often drive this 95 Ford that has a 460 at work. We're lucky if it gets 7 or 8 miles a gallon. But it's powerful and if it has a trailer with machinery attached the mileage doesn't seem to be any worse.

No. I get about 4-6 hours (no matter how hard I try) of sleep a night. My mind just runs and runs - often I relive things that I experienced all through childhood.
I can remember being pushed into a kiddie pool when I was 3!! That's why I have to have a beer before bed. Just to knock myself out.
***
Anyways:
At the least - 7miles per gallon for 100 miles at $4.059/gal for fuel.
7/100=14.28gal
14.28x4.059= $57.98 (at least - that's all highway, no stops)

It would depend how you go. I would say mostly highway but there are a few towns to go through for this trip.
The beer before bed is a good idea.
