This is a crazy hunch that Thunderbird came up with.
This is what it is. As I have mentioned my family has a contracting business and there's a lot of trucks in the fleet. One of the oldest trucks is a 1973 Ford Dumptruck. It's a F350 its not one of the big trucks. This particular truck is kept in the fleet as a backup truck or a transport supplies through very local use.
It shows aver 100k miles on it and who knows if that's true or not.
My father bought the truck new in 1973 and for some reason that one never got discarded and has managed to periodically remain in the fleet.
Phil, this is where you come in. Thunderbird is wondering if you would be willing to go up to his hometown and pick up this old dump truck and drive it to your home in Pennsylvania. Record the trip and post the trip on youtube.
The distance is around 125 miles and therefore in that old beast it will take about 3 hours because it doesn't travel as smooth or as fast as your pickup.
If you break down Thunderbird would pay for your transportation to get home and the old bomb would be his responsibility to remove.
If you do make it and you should he will send a couple of his employees to go get it.
Thunderbird will provide money for gas, a fuel filter, and place a box of basic tools for the trip. This has old style 4 speed with a granny gear, a 390 or 360 v8 I don't remember which, and it gets brutally horrendous gas mileage. None of that is going to be your responsibility. Is that something you would be willing to do?
He realizes that the trip would take a few hours and does not expect you to film the entire trip. Just highlights like this is rout whatever and this is this place or that place. You are free to stop and eat there is no time limit on getting this done.
Is this something you would be willing to try? (And please realize it's Thunderbirds gag not mine.)
If yes could you do it within the next month or so? Thunderbird and you could pm each other or use this topic to work out the details.
It won't cost you anything except for a few hours out of your life to get there and return via old beast.
I really haven't lost my marbles it's my brothers gag and he never had marbles.
You could bring your son to film while you drive. It might be a fun adventure for Jason. Maybe I don' t know. If you're willing please reply and private message me, Thunderbird or Blastgirl.
