Well this thread is to discuss about your favorite manga*. Yesterday I picked up Gyakushu! vol. 1 and xxxHOLiC vol. 4. I've really enjoyed the xxxHOLiC series for a while its a great light-hearted read. Gyakushu! on the otehr hand is super dark and has lots of severed limbs flying though the air. Gyakushu is so good because the way they use the narrator. It is there to break the 4th wall and sometimes has a little comvorsation with the reader. I suggest Gyakushu! and xxxHOLiC very much.
*Manga is also refered to as graphic novels. They are basically really long comic books from japan and sometimes the U.S.
<edit> Ok since most people might not read manga ive come to include anime with it.

I lawl at anime.
What's even better is the people who cosplay and dress up. There was a big convention down in Columbus a few weeks ago and I got to watch a few prime examples making their way to the convention center. I roffled.

Anime is funny, but not as funny as cosplay.
What man in their right minds would dress up in pink tights for fun? I mean, spock ears are okay, but some of these things I start to wonder about...
Also, in anime, why do they have so many thousands of sound effects? Like *fa-thwoom!* or *pitter pitter* or *LOOM*...

They have them... 'cos they're sweet.
Cosplay rocks. Pwn. I think it's funny for people to dress up as characters from their favorite anime/manga.
Besides... anime people have the best hair ever.

I don't read manga but I like a few anime when they're not too cutesy. Night Walker and Full Metal Alchemist were good cartoons.

I don't claim to be an authority on it, all I know is from what my anime fan friends introduced me to, therefore, I understand manga to be the style of art or the graphic novels and anime to be animated. |

FLCL is probably the most amazing/confusing anime out there, I own the entire series (all 6 episodes)
I was reading the first Akira book not too long ago, but I couldn't find the next one, so I just settled on watching the movie over and over
Akira is the greatest movie ever

I have been looking for Akira the movie forever. The only way for me to get it would be to order online, but I'm too lazy.
I've gotten into a highly stylized anime called texhnolize. Also Speed Grapher is pretty ok, a little ridiculous with the sex scenes but what'll ya do. I got a really good deal on this 5 movie pack of Lupin the Third DVDs. Not much on the manga front recen tly but i'm interested in an OEL (original English language) manga called king city.
