Modest mouse is probably my favorite band.
I just listened to their newest album (we were dead before the ship even sank) and it's pretty good. About as good as Good news for people who love bad news but not near as good as Lonsome crowded west.
What you people think of them?

I've been listening to Modest Mouse nearly exclusively, at least four or five hours a day, since November or so. My favorite albums are Building Nothing Out Of Something and This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About. My favorite songs are Positive Negative, Four Fingered Fisherman, and Mechanical Birds. My current Modest Mouse song count is 128. I plan to buy The Fruit That Ate Itself and We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank within the near future.

Basically, I'm the same, but we have different philosophies on how to listen to the music. Best Album: This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About Best Songs (No Order): 1. Dramamine 2. Mechanical Birds 3. Grey Ice Water 4. Sleep Walking 5. Other People's Lives 6. Cowboy Dan I think people seriously undermine the awesome of their older albums, they just hear Float On and go, "LAWL IM MM FANZ."

Best Songs (No Order): 1. Dramamine 2. Mechanical Birds 3. Grey Ice Water 4. Sleep Walking 5. Other People's Lives 6. Cowboy Dan I'm fairly meh about dramamine nowadays. I really liked it a year or two ago back when I had first discovered MM, but now not so much. The rest of your top six are spot-on, though.

Dramamine mostly for the long instrumental parts. Not all of them are about the lyrics.
