Parkway is a street but it's called that anyway. So you drive in a parkway but park in a driveway.
Pigskin is a football but the football is not made of pigskin.
To ship something usually means to transport it but it's not always by ship.
To buzz someone means to call them but that is a ring not a buzz.
A p-shooter is a kind of gun but it doesn't shoot peas.
There's lots more things like that.

Canadian bacon did not originate in Canada and French toast did not originate in France.

Sometimes fuel for trains storage is still called the coles when trains have not run on steam in years. They also say 'we're losing steam' as a way of saying they're slowing down. I guess it sounds better than we're decelerating.

My middle brother is the smallest of the three of us but he still references me as his little brother when I'm bigger than him.

Utalization of a leftover product is called a bakers dozen. Thats from the idea that bakers use leftover batter to make an extra something so its more than a dozen. But a dozen is 12 not more than that so a baker has the same count we do.

People say that they would die for something, but sadly they don't. This is called lewasite even though I'm probably the least active member.

Runninng, passing and tackling is a bigger part of American football than kicking the ball. Although there is some kicking of the ball not much of the game does that yet it's called football.

This is called lewasite even though I'm probably the least active member. But you are the founder. So it will forever be your site. Just like George Washington was the first President so the Capitol is located in Washington DC. Although when Washington was President the capitol was in New York City. Henry Ford was the founder of the Ford Motor Company so it will always be called Ford. Even though Henry died over 50 years ago. Flights over the Atlantic by a single aviator are often called Lindburgh trips because Charles Lindburg was the first person to make the trip.

We speak of websites as a place like I'm traveling the web.
Isn't that more like reading a book an endless one and reading the pages? I haven't really gone anywhere I'm still at my computer desk but the screen has changed like changing a tv channel. So I think thats another term that's not entirely true.
