I was going to post more tonight before I have to go to work. But some of the threads are hard to down load because of a huge picture of Hussein in tmtd's profile.
I was going to private message this to Classic but I think it's more important to post this in an open place because I received a private message from another member who says he posted to all the moderators the same message.
Classic I know you have tried not to be too confrontational at least not more than what is necessary but I think you are going to have to say something to tmtd and possibly bro_c too.
tmtd has that giant Hussein in that profile of his and that makes it so you have to scroll right to read the posts on each page. It also makes people like me who use a dial up wait a long time for the page to finish downloading. That avatar of HeMan peeing on everybody is not such a nice thing either but I chose not to make an issue of it when it appeared some time ago.
That appears to be done to annoy the forum's members.
These 2 have also made digs at other people's posts instead of either ignoring the thread or saying something more participating.
Over a year ago I told my son Jason not to post directly to those 2 for any reason. He has done as I have told him to.
Once in a while forum members make a post and 1 of them will reply and no sooner does that seem like normal discussion the tables turn and the member either gets snubbed, mocked, croticized, and the hostility begins.
Classic, you are the forum leader would you please at least say something to these 2 even if you don't tell us what you're going to say to them?
I would like to come into the forum without combative or mocking posts.
Ultimately this is what's starting to get annoying I hope a peaceful solution can take place.

Bro_c has made nine posts in the past two months. Of those nine posts, he only mocks one person, and that happens to be me in the above post. So I'm kind of wondering why you're grouping him with TMTD at all to begin with. As for TMTD: The Saddam sig was replaced (by him), but even if it wasn't, you have the option to hide signatures and avatars right in your porfile. Go, click on "profile." You can select to remove either avs, sigs, or both. So I really have no idea what the fuss is here, since you yourself can control whether you see those elements or not. Also, if you look at TMTD's posts, he's trying to tell people about the quality of posts they make. Sizzle himself said this in the "finguard" thread. Go, look it up. He sees a problem in the community, and uses the means he has at his disposal to change them. Sarcasm and mockery can get the message across crystal clear. However, it seems that people take what he says at face value, which isn't the way to look at posts. Overall, I guess the issue here is that people like TMTD (myself included) like the way the forum used to be. You know, when random threads didn't pop up every week, and things that weren't worthy of much discussions were posted in General Chat as opposed to getting their own thread. The Political board had long, well-thought-out discussions with sources cited and reasonable discussion of issues. I know that "times have changed" and "the new sheriff in town" doesn't mind the current posting style, but I do. Quite a few people tried staying around after the deletion, only to leave after everything settled because of the way everything changed. Is it so wrong to want to return the board to the way it was? |

I received a PM similar to that.
A dial up system would make it take longer to get through the pages. Larger photos take longer. And the having to slide right would be everybody. That happens even if someone exaggerates a word such as saying "Ohhhhhhh Myyyyy gooodnesssss" only taking up a whole line the page would be widened like that the same way.
At least I will say tmtd has removed that Saddam huge image so thank you.
I would say the best way to have returned things to how they once were would have been not to destroy them in the first place but it's too late for that.
That's probably enough for me at this point but I have no problem with the rest of that now. I would prefer this didn't reach a total confrontation but if that happens it will be dealt with as I see fit at the time.

Plus, that avatar is offensive. Phil, buddy, that ain't urine.
I miss the way LS used to be too, but that's not the point. It's different because we have mostly different members.

I am the one who messaged the mods and I didn't message all of them I messaged, Classic, Phil, Lewa and probably another but I did not message all of them. I was having the same problem because I also have a dial up. |
