Looking back on Lewasite

I find it a bit sad coming here now, partly because I can see that the forum has died and that's just a sad fact. There's the occasional effort I think to create conversation but I think there's not enough going on. It's just a forum. There's no sodaplay talk, actually if I'm honest, wtf is Sodaplay? There's no fart discussion and tbh, good. I think all the interesting members are clearly gone and any hope we had of this forum staying alive is pretty much gone along with Kimm and Mrs.Blast/Blastgirl. I thought I would take a moment to tell you my experiences of this forum.

I first joined this forum I was very young. I wasn't even 14 and I had no business being on a forum. I cringe at most of my old posts and even my attempts to 'fit in' are very embarrassing. There's a thread that sticks in my mind of myself getting trolled so badly and I don't have the intelligence nor wherewithal to retort because I'm very new to the forum system. I suppose in a sense my naivety at the time drew me in because I think there's a lot of nice members and there were back then. I played xbox with edlinfan sometimes, I wonder what he's up to.

I was a member of farts.com before lewasite. I use to go on there and troll, usually with my friends sitting next to me, we thought it was hilarious. I remember 'The Brown Baron' was this serious admin who at the time seemed really tech-savy and 'saved' the forum once. I made an account called The Black Baron and said I would kill him, rule the world and crap all over him. I was banned instantly and I made loads of other accounts but I was never in the same leagues as trolls such as 'The Exploder'. I did make the Gong show a couple of times. And sometimes I would rejoin the website and try to be serious but I would end up trolling. That was usually because I thought some members were really infuriating and irritating...

Like that Krum guy. I think he lives in the same city I do, he was weird wasn't he? Some MMA expert who bullied people on a farts forum lol. I didn't like Jersey Life, something about him always rubbed me the wrong way and others as well. From the very beginning it was like he was a wannabe forum admin or mod and he eventually did become just that. I didn't always believe his life story, possible catfish?

The checkwiper and Don Alcapone controversy when Don (two time FOTY winner) was revealed to be Checkwiper's father (who was also the admin). Didn't checkwiper step down? He certainly made a very sad leaving post.

Phil use to make really funny posts berating trolls. I was on the end of it a few times but he never realised that (because it would be me and my mate on a fake account). I remember a lot of the forum was very conservative and that swayed me to have quite conservative views about America (not that it mattered because I live in England). But I remember that swayed me strangely. Now as an adult it doesn't at all, I'm very liberal in my views towards politics generally. I actually look back on old posts related to politics and find the comments to be rather alarming. When I first became politically aware, I remember coming on this forum one day and being dead disappointed reading posts here.

I wish this forum was as active as it use to be. I wish the old members were here. I wish there was still all the trolling there use to be. I didn't appreciate how important Vanilla Ice and BroC were to this forum.

I remember Blastgirl posting fake pictures of herself (not sure why she did that) and I fell for it. But I asked her about a top she was wearing and she became very defensive, unknown to me it was because she was posting fake pictures. I never understood that and I thought as she was wife of a baseball player, she'd probably be quite attractive anyway so why post fake pictures? That disappointed me at the time, no idea why. Phil making youtube videos made me laugh, I use to enjoy them. Manarch I never found funny. Surprised how many lesbians we have on this forum yet not surprised at all.

I've been a member here for 11 years, obviously not active but wow, that's nearly half my life.

Discussion forums have faded away mostly because of social media. internet sites have become more sophisticated and the need for forums like this has sort of evolved.

I continue to check things out here. But not much happens as already said.
The Blasts at least some of them are on facebook. Kimm is married now and probably has less time for forum discussion. Classic and Blastgirl's children are older now so they're probably a lot busier these days. My kids are growing too but the fact that my work is overnight and my usual wake up time allows me some early afternoon time to serf the net is how I got to post as often as I had.
I would still but there's not often new discussion here.

I'd even make some new youtube blogs I just haven't in a while but maybe I'll do more of that. Part of the reason for posting videos was to discuss them here on lewasite and most of the members have faded out.

That doesn't mean I couldn't still do my blogs that are more or less my take on things.

I think this type of forum is for the most part an obsolete part of technology. Just that forums like facebook, shapshat and whatever else has brought discussion technology beyond posting forums.

My sons are lewasite members but neither participates for the same reason lack of people to participate with.

I wish all the threads hadn’t been killed, way back when. I would love for my adult self to be able to go back and read through those conversations.

I'd love for _glitch_ and edlinfan to reemerge. I'd do the same if there was discussion even though its oldschool here.

That's weird and awesome. I actually played xbox 360 with Edlinfan a couple a times, I thought I put that in my first post but I just read that I hadn't. He was a really nice guy, didn't his gf join up once and she left once they broke up? Tell him I say hi when you next speak to him (he wont remember me).
