Recently, my mom had me over for a fondue. For those who don't know, there are various types of fondues-cheese, chocolate, Asian and classic Bourginon (or oil). the word "fondue" comes from the French for submerged. becaus that's what you do. You stab your food with a long fork, and submerge it into the fondue pot, and then take it out when you ready to eat. In the case of the classic fondue, pretty much anything goes-bread, veggies, sausage, meats, battered or plain. After being cooked, they are served with savoury sour cream or yogurt based sauces-eg dill pickle, onion, ranch, salsa, caper, curry. I suppose it was more of a 70's thing--lots of deep fried food and all that. Can you see where I'm going with this? no, not yet? you will !! Some of the things that get fondued are cauliflower and broccoli, mushrooms, and sweet potato slices. Ah, I see the light is starting to come on..... Some people may know it as tempura, which it is related to, but that's pretty much veggies. Got you thinkin' huh? Cauliflower....broccoli, mushrooms, sweet potatoes..deep fried, served with onion sauce and/or curry sauce, and lots of it, too. Sometimes it gets washed down with lots of beer and/or wine. I can see your head nodding up and down...yep, you're getting it... Industrial Strength Fart Fuel, and I wasn't stopping until the tank was empty. Absolutely Aweful paint peeling nose burning poots finishing off with a Mudslide Oh the humanity !! I wouldn't want to give Blastgirl or Phil any ideas, but......
